Can we have a “2019” thread please?
Did a “Mustardy Cauliflower Cheese” from Yotam Ottolenghi’s ‘Simple’ pg. 92 as I still have a couple of stragglers from last nights festivities staying till tomorrow.
Was O.K.
Not a huge fan of Ottolenghi if truth be told. O.k you can burn me at the stake now!
Happy New Year everyone hope 2019 is a good one for you.0 -
Happy new year all, almost nice to get back to normality! So today its beans on toast for lunch and tonight is gammon, peas and mash – nice and simple. Later on in the week it will be steak and then sausages not sure how they will be served yet. had a cheeky bacon sandwich this morning to get back into he swing of things at work0

I must admit I'm all for keeping this thread going until it gets closed down again as I like looking back for inspiration but if anyone starts a new one, I'll be over.
Last day of the holidays today and must admit it has not been the best of Christmas' due to some serious family illness that meant a 400mile trip very early on Boxing Day. So most of our Xmas left overs are still in the freezer in assorted tin foil packs that I forgot to label...:o
Tonight I might liberate a couple of puff pastry parcels from the freezer with some veg.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

We're still focussed on eating leftovers here for now, although what's left is pretty uninspiring. So I'll be having some roasted cauliflower, mashed potatoes, sweetcorn and peas and the offspring will have cheese, crackers, sausage rolls and cake.0

For supper I shall be having “Bangers, bacon & beans” from ‘Slow, food worth taking time over’ by Gizzi Erskine’ pg 120.
Mr_Singleton, this sounded very tasty so hunted around online and found the recipe. Do you follow the recipe to the letter, especially doing the thing with the Tomatoes or do you have an alternative way?SPC 0370 -
I've got a gorgeous lentil and spinach curry left over in the fridge from the day before last. DD will be having supper at granny's.0

OH not feeling the dinner love so tonight's plan bumped to tomorrow and I had a slice of square sausage that was LO from the freezer, some sliced mushrooms, LO beans as a poached egg. Not entirely what I fancied but used some bits up and did the job.
Tomorrow's lunch is 4 x vegetable goyza also liberated from the freezer. We'd prob have quite a lot of room in there now if it wasn't for my friends food that's also in there too.
Enjoying trying to use stuff up ATM, esp as my food mojo has been lacking so I'm making myself be creative with what we have rather than buy more.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
