@Brie - I've often wondered about those pre shaped tortillas because they always look as though they'd be rather brittle to me and I imagined myself snapping the sides while trying to load in the fillings so I'll be interested to hear your verdict.
Meanwhile, I made Nigella's Crepes tonight and then filled 7 of them with thawed spinach and petits pois from the freezer and a few pine nuts, popped them in a dish and then covered them with a bechamel to use up the last of my blue cheese and whizzed up a bit of stale bread from the freezer to go on top.

Tonight we had pancakes and savoury mince. A bit of a faff really.
I made a quorn mince for myself, added celery, onions, carrots and potatoes.
Then a beef mince one.
Then made pancakes, gluten free and ordinary.
I had ordinary pancakes with quorn mince.
Husband had beef mince and ordinary pancakes.
Daughter had beef mince and gluten free pancakes.
The dogs had an ordinary pancake to share.

It's the wheat ones you need to look for. The corn ones are the brittle ones and I quite agree that I think they would break too easily. These were the ones we had - and fyi - a month past the bbd but I know from experience if you only use the inner ones they are just fine. The outer ones get a bit dry with time but we didn't need the whole pack in any case.

@Brie - thanks for the information, most interesting and I shall try to file it away in my memory for later.
I had the last parsnip, leek, sage and blue cheese pie with brussels sprouts, petits pois and sweetcorn so tomorrow am planning to adapt this recipe for Curried Cherry Tomatoes to the slow cooker as well as vastly reducing the amount of oil.

@BlueJ94 - those yorkies look absolutely superb, which recipe do you use?
Meanwhile I made the tomato curry which tastes wonderful but is extremely unphotogenic in fact I can only say it has an appearance for radio. I don't know how they managed to get such a beautifully coloured photo for the recipe because mine has come out a deep, dark brown.
Sorry about the dirty dish, this was my second helping and the background traces of my first one don't really enhance anything do they. Anyway, the panch phoran mixture that she gives the ingredients for is well worth making, the smell when I heated it in the oil was wonderful. My only other note is that 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt tastes like a bit too much to my palate so it's worth starting with just a 1/2 tsp and tasting first before adding any more.
I ate it with basmati rice and a salad.

I used the rest of the tomato curry from yesterday to marinate some smoked tofu overnight and then grilled it this evening and used leftover pancakes from Tuesday to make pretend wraps with salad and lemon juice.

There is a heck of a lot of staging for food particularly for the high end cooks like Delia. Unlikely it looked like that once she'd done the cooking and they let it cool sufficiently for the photos and then started their "adjustments". For some it's not even real food that is used for photos but plastic models so they are extra perfect.
Meanwhile we had an Asda chinese meal - somewhat disappointing other than the prawn toasts which OH declares to be the best available from a shop. I was shocked too at the lack of alternatives - starters included the usual toasts and spring rolls and a mixed pack included dumplings of some sort (which I didn't get). But the mains there was only a sweet and sour chicken (ok-ish), beef teriyaki (which OH pointed out was actually Japanese) and a somewhat expensive (£3.94? so I didn't get it) Peking duck which included a very small amount of duck, 4 wraps and a sachet of hoi sin. No cucumber or spring onion. I also got a pack of Uncle Ben's egg fried rice as it was cheaper than the Asda brand stuff in the fridge but OH thought it tasted a bit odd. Basically I won't be going back to Asda any time soon which is fine by me as I've got other better shops nearer to hand. We've got another back of the rice in our drawer so I think I'll unload that and stick to making rice from scratch in the future.
