I'm on kitchen duty tonight as the OH has cooked the last 2.  (Thursday venison sausages with polenta and mushroom sauce, Friday scallops* with bacon in cream on pasta)

Off shortly to get some boneless chicken thighs and one of those middle eastern kits by Al'Fez.  Nice and easy mostly cooked in one dish so easy to wash up and then eat with salad in wraps.  At least that's what I'm thinking right now.  If I can't get one of these then is will be fajitas.  I think.  And I've got a good chunk of almost stale bread that will be made into a bread pudding - will be adding blueberries I think.  Maybe.  Oh my I'm so decisive!!!

*scallops were going cheap at the fish market because the boss had asked one of the staff to order in 7.5 kilos of scallops and he missed the dot out of the amount.  So 75 kilos were ordered instead!!!

Bread (and butter) Pudding in the oven following my mom's recipe. Except I didn't have any pineapple so I've used blueberries instead. Supposedly takes an hour to cook but I'm keeping my nose on alert. When done it will be left to cool but will go back in the oven to warm through once our roast dinner is served up.   Wondering if I will serve it with just double cream or if I should have maple syrup with it as well.....

fyi - the actual dinner will be roast pork loin, roast taters and broccoli.  He'll insist on gravy of course.  The piece of pork is quite long so I might take a couple of chops off it for later in the week.  Or we'll just have the excess tomorrow night perhaps....

Tuesday 4th March - pancakes! Just made the batter following blessed St Delia, as always. Have lemon, sugar and currants (!) at the ready, with a fresh jar of chocolate spread for the final pancake. I'm on my own as Mrs Fiver does not like pancakes!

Making pancakes today, American style and English. Will also cook up some bacon to have with them. Batter is made and resting in the fridge. Might even see if I have some Nutella in the cupboard for a cheeky Nutella and nut pancake.

I treated my digestive system to high-quality fiber. I made a carrot creamed soup with duck fat and ghee. It might not sound very appealing, but it tastes like poetry  <3

can't have pancakes as they are breakfast food.  and must be served with butter, maple syrup and crispy streaky bacon.   no lemon juice here folks!!

@Brie growing up we used to have savoury mince and pancakes.  I did the same with my children and was a regular favourite request.

We had that today.  Its just mince, carrots, onions and potatoes in gravy, served on top of pancakes.  I had quorn mince on mine.
