Last night's roast beef was so lush.  The secret to success was the mustard used.  It was actually a mix of mustard and horseradish bought from one of the local Polish delis.  Absolutely marvellous.

Tonight is salad.  OH has some ham to go with his and I'll be having some tuna mayo.  Trying to decide if we need boiled eggs.

@Islandmaid - that lunch is making me drool especially the sabayon and the celeriac dauphinoise.
@Brie - the mustard/horseradish mixture sounds divine, can you disclose the brand so that I can pop to the local Polish shop for a pot please?

Another portion of stew with a slice of wholemeal bread and a decaf coffee here.

the label says Musztarda Plebana.  I would guess the first word is mustard but not sure about the second.  Google translation suggest this mean parsonage.  But that's likely some collequial term.  Anyways it's not overly hot, not sweet.  very nice and tasy.  might be this?  Musztarda Plebana chrzanowa 250 g | BACÓWKA (bacowkatowary.pl)

While you're looking about check to see if they've got the box of borscht instant soup.  It's about £1.80? maybe and will make about 20 servings of soup so really good value and very tasty.

Yep, when I went to that link the translate feature told me it was Rectory mustard and that I could also purchase Peasant Table Mustard by the same brand! Thanks for the suggestions, I shall show this post to the assistant in the Polish deli and see what I get! Watch this space.

The mustard sounds great, sadly no Polish shop here, I’ll have a look next time I go to the mainland.

it’s reporting week for me at work, so nose to the grindstone, easy dinner of fish and chips, both from freezer stash, those lightly dusted fish fillets are really good.

lemon tart and clotted cream for pud, bought for a treat at the weekend before we were invited out.

It’s cooler here today and there’s been a constant drizzle since lunchtime, so I’m doing cottage pie for tonight to warm us up! Strawberries galore from the community fridge, some to have with cream for tonight’s pud and some I think I’ll throw in the ice cream maker tomorrow.

It's cold and raining intermittently here today, so it's more stew and vegetables for me.

Pitta breads with chicken shawarma tonight and (because my younger son is a bit obsessed with it) guacamole.

    Then I made shortbread.

@Frith we’re having similar, but Greek style, Yiros in wraps with the remaining salad of the week, no guacamole though, now that you’ve mentioned it I might grab some as I have to pop out for a dental checkup 🤔
