thanks for that idea - remind the next time I ask please!!  In the end I rough chopped a red onion, shallot, red pepper, chopped some sad spring onions, glugged with olive oil and a pile of herbs d Provence and roasted those.  Then I added a small amount of water with a stock cube, a good glug of white wine, place the thighs on top skin up, smeared with soy sauce and dusted with herbs and stuck it back in the oven for 30 mintues or so.  Served with fresh baked bread sticks.  Very nice.

Tonight is movie night apparently so there's popcorn, nachos and hot dogs.

I made the fridge and larder scrapings stew which isn't bad even if I say so myself.

I started with the assembled use it up bits from the fridge, the plastic wrapped bits on the left hand side are pecorino and parmesan rinds which have been waiting for a home for a while!  :# There's also half a green jalapeno wrapped in cling film in the middle underneath the whole chillies.

Then I had a scrabble around in the larder and the door of the fridge and added the end of a bag of soya mince, the last of the mung beans, the end of a jar of white miso and a tablespoon of sun dried tomato paste and a carton of passata and here's the result which was eaten with spaghetti and petits pois.

I'm left with most of the onions, the spring onions and the whole chillies to use another day and think I might try pickling them in the leftover vinegar from my last jar of gherkins.

@goldfinches  We used to call that ‘ready steady cook’ night when that programme was really popular.  Random items to make a meal. Looks like you would have won 🏆

Had the last pieces of marinated tofu alongside a portion of yesterday's stew, spaghetti and salad followed by a handful of salted cashews and a decaf coffee.

Nice little beef to roast - I've suggested with a mustard crust - with roasters, peas and yorkshires.  There's raspberries possible for afters but we have a few pots of fruit yoghurt so might just add a few to those.

More stew this time with ys brown bread and marmite followed by cashews and decaf. Easy meal after much digging on the allotment.

Had an amazing lunch yesterday, seafood risotto to start, roast lamb, peas a la francais, Celariac dauphinoise, roast potatoes as main, then a sabayon with fresh berries, then cheese and biscuits. We were very spoiled 😋

bit lighter today, bbq mackerel with salad
