13 failing the above surely they are ideal toasted for breakfast sandwiches with egg and cheese etc.

OH is not having a good day so I've been asked to go out to M&S and get some nice steaks.  Will try to resist the huge ones they have as I know they are much too big.

I was exhausted yesterday after an incredibly energetic whirl here so just had a quick salad and fell into bed. Tonight is another salad as I had poached eggs and hollandaise for lunch after thistle wrangling so don't want anything too heavy.

  • Waving hello to everyone as I'm rejoining this thread after a prolonged absence due to feeling to feeble to do anything worthwhile mentioning in the kitchen.
The good weather has really perked me up too, so I made the stuffed peppers at the bottom of this page yesterday evening and can report that they're very nice cold from the fridge with salad after a broiling hot day.

Here's how mine looked when they came out of the oven. I found the recipe relatively easy for a very worthwhile result IYSWIM so I am popping this one in the "to be repeated" file.

@goldfinches thanks for this review. I’ve saved that recipe to use later. Our M & S is actually selling those peppers on sale right now.

Thankyou for reminding me about this week's freshmarket offers, I forgot to look at them when I was in our local branch the other day because their internet had gone down meaning that none of the tills were working properly so it was bedlam and I got out as soon as I could. I'm adding that task to the to do list.

Weather dry but on the chilly side here today so sliced and grilled an aubergine to have with salad and pickles, am thinking of making soup or a curry tomorrow to have something more suitable for colder days.
