I can't decide whether I want to live with @Frith or @Islandmaid. Pear, honey, rosemary and walnut tart or home-made pizza with home grown lettuce what a difficult choice!

Just to make everyone jealous I made this Felicity Cloake lemon meringue pie recipe today and here is the result.

For the record I'm personally not convinced by the digestive biscuit crumbs added to the pastry part of the recipe but the end result was a big success with my friends this afternoon, one even said that she didn't normally like lemon meringue but had changed her mind after trying mine which was a compliment I'll treasure.

After all that baking and walking I had crackers, cheese and salad for dinner as it was so hot and sultry here that I couldn't face anything heavier.

Well, that’s that - we’re just going to have to start an MSE what’s for dinner commune - that tart and lemon meringue pie look AMAZING 🤩

I’m using the remains of last nights chicken with a Asian style orange sauce for orange chicken and rice for him over bean sprouts for me - would have been lemon chicken but the lemons I bought came pre mummified and have next to no juice 😕

The commune sounds like a great idea, do you have a location in mind or shall we ask the folks over on the Have a Look at This thread to keep an eye out for us?

I made the Meera Sodha Lentils with Pomegranate Molasses which is delicious and I highly recommend it. I made my version with 300g green and 40g red lentils rather than brown and halved the oil each time it was given in the recipe and only had about half the amount of parsley so made that up with coriander and it still came out tasting great. I didn't bother with the tahini and lemon juice instead I just dolloped some yoghurt on top instead.
I also made a simplified version of this slaw Lime and Poppy Seed omitting the curry leaf oil and the turmeric nuts and increasing the carrots to use up what was in the fridge.

I don’t cook Fridays, OH normally springs for a takeaway, but we’re out for Sunday lunch so tonight, we are compromising with an Aldi crispy duck pancake and I’ll make some satay chicken

@goldfinches Pomegranate Molasses is one of my never be without items, it’s amazing on grilled halloumi 🤤 well, on anything really 🤷‍♀️

Ended up with schnitzel and gratin potatoes last night as OH wasn't up to cooking.  So the swordfish will be done tonight poached over a bed of chopped peppers and shallots and some sort of white beans.  Likely to have tomatoes in it too and a splash of white wine.  Whatever - it always ends up great.

Vaguely ME stew today. Pomegranate molasses and raisins, because I had run out of prunes.

Hi, where do you all buy your Pomegranate Molasses from please. I have bought mine to bring home from Turkey for many years but have never bought it in UK. I am confused as Tesco also call it Pekmez which I can also buy in Turkey but is a totally different product. Morrisons has added sugar no thanks. My Turkey trips may be curtailed soon so would love a decent UK alternative.

@Paspatur I bought mine from the local Turkish supermarket where I can also buy pekmez and pekmez with tahini which I agree are a totally different thing. I've seen it on the shelves at my local mid-sized Waitflower and it's here in their online groceries and I'm pretty sure Oc*do stock it too but I don't think I've spotted it anywhere else.

@goldfinches thank you. I have no Turkish supermarket (plenty of barbers and some tailors) and no Waitflower or Ocado. I will seriously stock up in Turkey next month
