Best of luck for the first day in your new job tomorrow @Islandmaid!I had roasted a chicken but Mister CJ wasn’t feeling very well so we just ended up having (warm) chicken sandwiches.2

Hope today went well @Islandmaid
I put a gammon in the slow cooker this morning, I have made inlaws a couple of dinners, with mash and veg. The rest will be dinner and sandwiches.
So its ham salad and poundies for dinner with salad. I'm having eggs and tuna with my salad. I have used the remaining eggs and tuna to make my packed lunches for tomorrow and Wednesday.1 -
Starting a new job must be so daunting - not knowing half the procedures and having to try and rapidly learn a whole load of new colleagues’ names! (I used to make a secret crib-sheet to describe people …. Mary, tall, long brown hair, red glasses etc and keep it hidden in my desk drawer for the first few weeks!!)
Tonight I have been very fortunate to get a load of free ingredients from the community fridge : minced chicken breasts, basmati rice, chillies, garlic, ginger paste, soy sauce, limes, mushrooms, coriander, basil and mint. So with just the addition of a dash of fish sauce and a spoonful of lemongrass paste I’ve made four almost-free portions of really tasty Thai chicken larb.2 -
Thanks for the good wishes xx I made it through the first day, all teams meetings and induction training, but after 20 years starting work at 7 am it was a lovely change to have to ‘commute’ to the spare room/office 😆 a completely new company, fully remote working - looking forward to the challenge ☺️
I found a single rump steak in the freezer, so will make beef and (mostly) mushroom stroganoff over rice for him, buttered cabbage for me.Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
