I've made a cream cheese, onion and slow roasted tomato puff pastry tart for tonight, with a nice crispy green salad. There was a small amount of puff pastry left over which I have turned into little twists filled with hazelnut spread and chopped nuts (saw Prue Leith doing this on a telly programme over the weekend) and these have made a lovely little treat to have with afternoon coffee (I may have made an odd number, so I could cunningly get to sample one first

I had some emergency dental treatment today so my mouth was very tender. Apparently a new way of filling that avoids root canal treatment. The dentist was very excited to be doing it. I was only his second patient to receive it.
However I have never had a filling as sore, I was warned it would be like this for a couple of days.
So I had scrambled egg, cheesy mash and baked beans.
Husband had omelette and salad.1 -

I’ve just taken a small portion of minced beef and pork out of the freezer, which I will turn into a bolognese sauce later today. I’ll mix this with all sorts of tail-end vegetables which need using up (onion, courgette, mushrooms, peppers, peas and sweetcorn) and a creamy cheese sauce to make a pasta bake which will last us at least two days. I’m full of cold and feeling rubbish, so comfort food is on the agenda!
