In the end as OH is still too unwell (not descended from the bedroom since he went up 24 hours back) I left the chicken breasts wrapped up and had the second pork chop instead. With another baked potato which did very nicely.  So now even more wondering why some work and some don't.

@Brie hope Mr Brie is feeling better today

making roast chicken today, roasties, Yorkshire puds, creamed leeks, sprouts and bacon and honey roasted carrots, might make a ginger sponge pudding and custard as OH has not so subtly been hinting about it 🤣

Thank you for your good wishes but unfortunately we've had the paramedics out for the second day in a row.  They arrived just before noon and have just now with him trussed up in the back of the ambulance.  I suspect they may want to keep him overnight.

Greedy me, on that basis, am wondering about shooting out to Taxco or somewhere to get myself something soothing for dinner.  Or if I should just trundle on and do something with the chicken breasts I had bought in anticipation of doing just those plain with rice as gentle on an invalid's tum.  Better decide soon I guess...

I'm taking comfort in doing chicken breast with mushrooms, spring onions and cream on rice.

Thinking about you and yours @Brie

I did a beef joint in the slow cooker, made roast potatoes, baby potatoes, cauliflower and broccoli cheese, brussel sprouts, carrots, green beans and Yorkshire puddings

I plated up two dinners for inlaws (apparently I plate up too much, so they share one plate on a Monday and share the other on a Tuesday)

I also opened a tin of rhubarb and used some frozen crumble made earlier for dessert. I have some custard in the fridge that we can have with it.

Sending good wishes your way @Brie

I have two chicken breasts to use up, and will marinate them in a paste of chilli, coriander, ginger and garlic then pan fry them. Might have that just with salad, but I do have a random assortment of veg from the Community Fridge to get through so might do something with those - I found a recipe online for shredded sprouts sautéed with diced onion and red chilli with a dash of honey and orange which sounded nice, and might work with the chicken.

@C_J I'm not a fan of sprouts but that does sound nice.  And I suspect shredded sprouts are much nicer than the overboiled whole ones.

For tax....last night's chicken breast with green onions and mushrooms in cream with white and wild basmati.  A small portion is in the fridge for lunch.

I have potatoes left over from yesterday so will pop them in the actifry. Alongside some breaded chicken. I will have tuna and use the rest for sandwiches for my lunch tomorrow.
