Kitchen is supposed to be ready for full use today so I get home with the requested stuff to use on the stove top (sliced potatoes for frying to go with eggs or omellettes) only to be told that the gas hob installer said we should wait a minimum of 24 hours before using it.  Add to that the OH is feeling grotty so has said he'll just have a cuppa soup.  I had been looking lovingly as jacket potatoes, pizzas etc at the shop but was trying to stick to doing a quick minimal shop so didn't get anything that I can have given we don't have any cuppa soup currently that I am willing to eat.

So much of the food is still hidden somewhere in the garage so it's difficult to know what to have.  There is some bake your own baguettes that I could stick in the oven with cheese and tomatoes to make an improvised pizza I guess.

I had jacket potato and cheese, husband and daughter had cod and chorizo fishcakes and mushy peas. I bought the fishcakes from a place that supplies pubs (they were frozen) and apparently they were good.

I used a couple of small bits from the freezer and cooked up some veg from the fridge (some predates Christmas)
So gammon, chicken, stuffing, root mash, roasted potatoes, spring greens,  brussel sprouts and broccoli. I plated up two for the inlaws.
I also made mini mushroom quiches, Ratatouille, vegetable lasagna, aubergine parmigiano, sausage rolls and mixed a nancy birtwistle bread using potato water.
For anyone interested its here, on the video potato cooking water(no salt) was recommended.
