Beef burritos for us tonight, using up home made burrito filling and wraps from the freezer. Nice and tasty, quick and filling.
I am currently simmering 10 cooked chicken drumsticks (free from the Community Fridge and frozen after Christmas) with some veg trimmings and when nice and tender will strip the meat from those to make Chinese chicken in black bean sauce for tomorrow. Might be able to pad it out with mushrooms to make it into an extra couple of portions.
At this rate I may possibly be able to see the bottom of one of the freezer drawers by the end of January. Maybe.4 -
Ordered in pizza last night - not really all that impressed so will happily go back to buying them at Lidl or Sainsbugs when we have a kitchen again. Hoping I can convince him indoors that we need to go out tonight as I think he's getting a bit too attached to his chair.....I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Harvester tonight. OH suggested we (aka me) go and get fish and chips and I said no, I wanted some salad. My tum is grumbling non stop due to ongoing excess of potatoes as almost any meal out seems to contain them. Even at the Indian place we got sag aloo!! Kitchen isn't usable until Friday when the gas chap comes and connects the hob. Hoping that the electrician doesn't find anything nasty when he's here tomorrow - he was tutting at a lot of the things he found last week. I don't want everything to grind to a halt and us have no power pending a complete rewire or similar. I don't actually think that will happen as he does seem sensible....I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
