We were having mushroom ravioli. I had bought two packs at half price, best before Saturday, unfortunately the seal on one pack was dodgy, pasta caught between seal and box and furry pasta inside. So I cooked some frozen tortellini with the remaining box. Tossed in spinach, tomatoes and olives with some mozzarella. Served with leftover salad.4

Went out to a Vintage Inn for dinner as I had a 50% off mains voucher plus a gift card purchased at 20% of the face value. Ribeye with chips and baked cherry tomatoes for me and steak and venison pie with mash and roasted carrots for him. Very nice but eating out every night is getting a bit boring. Usually it's a treat that happens 2 or 3 times a year instead of every night for a week. We have a few more days of it until the kitchen is finished so we're off to an Italian place tonight.
But yesterday before heading to the restaurant OH had the bright idea of stopping in a Lidl as he was nearly out of orange juice. Nabbed that, some YS barrista milk, a pack of buns and some bacon. This morning instead of going out for yet another fry up he cooked the bacon on the bbq and we had lovely buns. The buns were rather tiddly so I had 2, OH had 3 and that left 1 for the chap assembling our cupboards to have a bacon bap for his mid morning snack.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Brie - I was without a kitchen for 16 days. I used the microwave to heat hm food that I had frozen so we didn't eat out once. I am too mean to eat out plus I was spending £20,000 on house renovations including the new kitchen.

When our kitchen was being refurbed, I was very greatful for the use of slow cooker, air fryer and Thermomix 🙌
We’ve got a busy family weekend to say goodbye to my dad who passed away just before Christmas, a quick Thai red vegan curry tonight for all after a particularly hard day at work. Roll on Sunday and a bit of recovery time 👌Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
