Pasta here too - spaghetti with chopped sausage, mushroom, onion, the last of the Christmas packet of chestnut pieces, a handful of spinach, a dash of cream and a sprinkle of cayenne pepper. A bit of a use-it-up meal which has cleared the fridge nicely before tomorrow's food shop :)

Found the tuna last evening but no mayo so decided to cheese up my spud and have some sliced ham with it.

Knowing that OH is still lurgying I've got myself a ham & mushroom pizza from Lidl.  I'll be hard pressed to get him to have some dry toast.  Might convince him to sip a cuppa soup.

OH is out a a burns night thing tonight, I was invited but declined, love haggis, not a fan of bagpipes

I shall snuggle up with Frank and watch trash tv and eat cheese and biscuits, I would have wine, but I’m doing ‘Damp January’ and not drinking through the week

This made such a large dish of sausage pasta yesterday that we're going to have to finish it up tonight. It was delish though, plus it is like getting a free meal on the second night  :D

We went for a wander around a local town. Then had fish and chips as a late lunch which we ate outside, beside the river as we had the dogs with us. They didnt take long to cool!!

For tea/dinner we have just had a plain omelette each with some tomatoes.

Using up some of the bits still left from Christmas/new year tonight. Freezer stash picky bits = Tempura prawns, scallops and chorizo, scallops in white wine.  Fridge = baked Camembert with garlic bread to dip, will air fry some remaining deli meat to make meat ‘crisps’ to dip too.  Red wine will be taken. Salted dark chocolate for pudding 😊

Last night OH was still ill so I only managed to get him to eat a half ham sandwich and a sip of cream of mushroom cuppa soup.  He did, fortunately, drink his cup of builder's tea, a big glass of rehydration stuff and likes the cherry squash being sold currently at Lidl and went to bed with that after having a mug of chamomile tea.   He was acting weird simply due to dehydration earlier on.

I had chucked a potato in the oven and after an hour at 190 it was still solid.  Split it in 4 and gave it another 30 minutes and it was still very firm but not unpleasant to eat.  Not sure why some potatoes are so difficult especially when they are sold as bakers.  Think I might have to go back to frozen ones as they never have this problem.  I also fried a small pork chop which was very nice.  One more of those to have at some point.

Dinner tonight will be chicken breast - likely just done plain on a griddle - with rice so that he gets something more on his tum to aid his recovery.

Hope your husband is better today @Brie

Husband is cooking old recipe Iceland Aberdeen Angus quarterpounders from the freezer, and making swede and turnip mash, to have with fresh mushrooms and frozen petits pois.
