I made a cauliflower cheese with a Sainsbury's box mix. Didnt admit to it being a box and husband said it was really nice. Better than usual apparently.  Well it was taste the difference. I bought it for 50p.

Welcome back!  And thanks for the info on the cheese sauce!  I like cauli cheese but the expense of doing a proper sauce makes it a bit much.  I'll look out for this!!

Welcome back and thanks for the info. I had a look at the ingredients on the website and they seem almost the same as a homemade one so I might keep an eye out for this too. It would be a useful thing to have in the cupboard, could it be made with frozen cauliflower do you think?

I had the last portion of bean stew with bulgur and stir fried cabbage followed by decaf coffee and cheese.

    Hi @JIL 👋

Sausage and mash for him tonight.  Not sure for me, got raging toothache, not a fan of dentists but as we’re flighing in 2 weeks I think I may have to go and pay a fortune for oral torture 😱😭

thinking if i ever need a new career I'll be renting myself out as a dental visit companion.  Love going to the dentist generally (ok, my dad was a dentist and his office was a really fun place to play when one is 6) and I'd be happy to hold hands and basically try to make the whole process better all round.

edited to add - soup and bread tonight with bits of left overs from last night's lovely brisket.

@goldfinches I'm sure it could be made with frozen cauliflower. I didnt taste it myself although there is some left in the fridge.
I think its 95p for a box, I got 2 boxes at 50p each from a company shop.

Tonight I'm going to do wedges, greek salad and breaded chicken.

@JIL - thanks for letting me know, I'll be looking out for the box and blanching and freezing the next YS cauliflower that comes my way.

I made a roast pepper salad from one of my Ottolenghi cookbooks and had cous cous and fried tofu with it.

Bought 2 of these yesterday on your recommendation.  They were £1 each and in a sachet not a box.

Will let you know how I get on!

makes me wonder if that's why the company shop had them. The box had breadcrumbs in them.

I do hope they are nice. It was very quick to make and looked good.

Tonight its gammon and the last of the above mentioned cauliflower cheese and mash for husband.

Daughter and I are having rice and veg with salmon.

boneless pork chops with dumplings and "hunter" sauce.  followed by chocolate ice cream with a strawberry on top and a couple of excellent chocolate chip cookies.
