My heart goes out to anyone who is coping with dementia - as kerri said above, it's horrible for everyone.
I bought some yellow-stickered peppered smoked mackerel fillets yesterday, and made them into some mousse which we had with crackers for lunch. It was lovely.
For dinner tonight I'm making this Jamie Oliver giant Indian spiced meatball recipe, which will make enough for tomorrow night as well.4 -
OH has been allowed to drive again so went to the market to get his eggs and stopped at Sainsbugs to get their fish and chips plus mushy peas. I'm not a massive fan of the peas but will have a spoonful and add some salad to the side. Without tomatoes of course as there are none to be had anywhere in the UK apparently.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Yesterday - leftover stew with mash
Tonight i had a few odd and ends to use up veg wise. We had a cooked breakfast this morning so I couldn’t stomach anymore meat. So I made a hidden veg pasta sauce then made it into a pasta bake.:money::rotfl::T3 -
I am having a full on CBA due to not feeling well. So it’s either going to be rummaging in the freezer for something I can heat up, or the bog standard beans on toast.
Or as that is completely uninspiring I might even be just resorting to the bowls of cereal. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.4 -
Thankyou for all the comments re dementia. It is so very cruel. My mum and my mil are both affected by it, leaving my dad and fil as effectively their carers. We all do what we can.
Tonight it was pasta, mine was with mozzarella and leftover roasted veg and spinach. Others had prawns, chorizo, green beans and tomato sauce. With rocket and garlic bread.4 -
Tonight we had roast chicken thighs in apricot sauce.

I had some smoked salmon trimmings - ff to use and more pots of sour cream so made 2 quiches.
I also made a Victoria Sandwich to try out Canderel - not impressed - nothing like my normal result. Has anyone used Canderel in baking please?

Got all of the kids home tonight, first time since Christmas 😊 takeaway as it’s the easiest option with so many different diets to cater for.I’m in charge of the GS today, we’ll go out for a walk soon, it’s getting very hard to entertain him with his broken collarbone, with a sling on so no swings, slides, climbing etc - another 3 weeks before he can go back to nursery, so 6 in total and that’s if he gets the okay from the hospital. We will throw stones into the sea, using his good arm 🤣Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
