Was at work later than usual today, so nipped into M&S for a pizza meal deal - it’s good for us as it includes a vegan pizza for eldest DS who is dairy intolerant. We had vegan pizza, pepperoni pizza, loaded potato skins and breaded mushrooms, I made a massive salad to go alongside.Books read 2023 - 49/753

Good evening all, a late one here
tonight we had jacket spud with cheese and beans. My daughter loves it so I do it often.:money::rotfl::T3 -
I had the leftover savoury quorn mine fro Tuesday pancakes on top of some actifry chips. Husband had some homemade fishcakes from freezer with peas and actifry chips.
What a week that was, feels like it should be mid March already.2 -
I'm in heaven, I'm in heaven, and I just can't believe that I'll finally be getting my OH's chicken liver risotto tonight!!!! HURRAH!!!
livers thawing, arborio rice in abundance, 2 onions available, stock cubes, chunk o' parmesan. It's nice with some white wine in it but I don't think we have any. Need to go to Mr T's in a bit so might pick some up.
Meanwhile this morning I've tidied the kitchen (in prep for the big mess that will be made later.....) and I've prepped and popped into the freezer a bag of veg - the wilting courgette, some mushroom and half a dozen little shallots - all ready to be roasted up at some point. Wondered about doing something with the sad little cabbage that didn't get used with the fowl last week - OH has a leg of lamb for tomorrow and it would go nicely with that but it's him that will be cooking so he might object.
Weirdly we never had cooked cabbage when I was growing up. I don't think anyone has ever cooked it in the family home. Cabbage salads yes, even raw shredded cabbage and yoghurt & fruit for breakfast (my oldest bro is a bit weird at times) but not cooked. Not sure why other than remembering when quite young when my mom mentioned how some apartment blocks smelled of cooked cabbage. So she knew what it smelled like and obviously didn't like it - with a sniff at "peasant/immigrant" food. Which is a bit of a laugh given that her parents were immigrants and had a farm for years. Maybe her mom cooked it too often. Must remember to ask when I next talk to her (mom not gran as she's long gone) - granted mom's into her 90s so her memory isn't quite as sharp as we would always like.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Well I have smoked salmon quiche in the fridge but not sure what we will have. Up early and at the table top sale so feeling exhausted. Mr F has gone out where there will be refreshments so he may not be hungry.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
