I slow-cooked some cubed steak from the butcher with onion, mushroom, garlic, herbs, beef stock and a good glug of red wine, served with buttered carrots and a spoonful of creamy mash. It was bloomin’ lovely, and there’s plenty left for a return match tomorrow night.3

Tonight we have shepherds pie. I did the mince bit a few weeks ago with some reduced lamb and bulked it out with veg and lentils so I got 2 meals worth and froze one lot. Mash made with sweet and white potatoes. A nice hearty meal:money::rotfl::T3

We were sensible about last night's dinner of a leg of lamb and have more than enough for tonight. Helped by the fact that it was undercooked by OH's standards (but not mine....) so it will happily be reheated for tonight. There's also left over new potatoes and more than enough frozen yorkies available as well. I'll be hoping for corn rather than peas but either will do.
Was taking a good look too at the little unloved cabbage we have and am contemplating shredding it for coleslaw. It's not a white cabbage, rather dark green and not really compact like the white ones but I think it will be nice with a bit of added onion/shallot and carrot and a yoghurt mayo dressing.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I shall make mushroom soup and open a tin of ham for a sandwich. Not the greatest ham but we stocked up at £1 a tin from Asda. I have put it in the fridge so it will cut thinner. The bread and the butter are home made.DH will get sandwiches and cake at the bowls match.4
