at 64p I'm sure there'd be a queue of people to buy a whole chicken!!!  Local Tasco had to fence off half an aisle near the reduction bit recently as there were too many people trying to squeeze into too small an area while the reductions were being done.

Exactly. This was really just fluke timing of the lady walking past to take the remaining items to the front of the store. One person saw one labelled up and a few of us stopped. As the shop was quiet there was no massive scrum and the lady handed out items as she priced them. There were some other bits like packs of drumsticks on her trolley too so everyone should have at least got something - and some I'm sure more than one bargain but I wasn't going to be greedy and hang around.

We’re having the rest of the seafood OH bought.  Crevette, lobster, oysters etc with salad and bread (for him).

DS and DIL are away this weekend, GS will eat with us, he likes shellfish 🤗

Tonight I’m making the salmon, prawn, spinach and tomato curry that we were supposed to have the other night. It’ll probably make enough for four portions (esp if I slip in some other finely diced veg - I’ve got some courgettes which need using up) so we’ll have it second time around on Monday night.

There was a lot of fruit, veg and bread being given away at the Community Fridge yesterday, so I’m planning on turning some of it into banana fritters for tonight, and an Apple and Banana Brown Betty for desserts later this week.

OH is still worringly unwell so I'm going to push for soup and sandwiches as easy to do and eat rather than something fancier.  Hopefully he'll be a bit more human tomorrow and we can have some pork chops but if not we've got enough soup in stock to last a few days more.

I am thinking of making a quiche or two as cream in the fridge to use and I have a lot of eggs.

Does anyone else get quite excited when something is used up and you can see what is next on the use up list?
Oh yes - am on my own tonight so liberated some cauliflower, spinach and potato curry from the freezer that's been on the use up list for far too long for my liking!

@kerri_gt I get excited when I use up stuff, I like nothing better than seeing space that was once occupied by something I bought on a whim and it out stayed its welcome.

Tonight I made an apple and pear crumble for tomorrow, I kept the better bits of apple and made a waldorf salad. I had a posh spinach and olive pizza.
Husband had some belly pork, tossed in soy sauce and cajun, and baked on top of onions and cubed potatoes. (Recipe I found online) with green beans. Enough left for his lunch on Monday.
