Used to love boil in the bag cod in butter sauce, still do have it on occasion. With rice, like I used to have as a kid.

Today was another portion of oxtail casserole for me, with the last two yorkshire puds, the last of the limp looking cavolo nero and a few sprouts which were looking suspect at the bottom of the fridges.
So casserole and suspect veg 😅

Further on in my freezer foraging I have found a stash of sausages, so I’m going old school, sausages in rolls with proper hand cut chips for those that carb.  Also making caramelised onions as I bought too many at Christmas. Meat fest of sausages and chicken for me.

Last night's freezer clear out soup was absolutely ace.  One pot was leftover lamb cooked in red wine with kalamata olives.  The other was pigeon breast and mushrooms also in red wine.  I boiled some new potatoes first, drained and then added both pots of stuff.  It was rather lush and even better for having it all for myself.  Well I had about a third of it, had another bowl today for lunch (and I never normally have lunch) and then will ask OH if he wants some and then if he says know I'll have to decide if I want to pot it back up into the freezer or simply save it for lunch tomorrow.

tonight's plan is for chicken thighs roasted and served with chips and salad.

  • DH and kids are having oven-baked fajita chicken with wraps, baked sweet potatoes, salad and a small amount of leftover rice. I’ll do some mushrooms, peppers and black beans in fajita spice for myself.

Made daughter a stir fry with something that said it wasn't beef. Husband is having gammon, egg, hash brown and baked beans. I have roasted a load of veg, I'm having that with pasta.
Rest of roasted veg will make a vege tart for daughter tomorrow and another portion of pasta for me.

Venison sausages from the butcher, served with a side of creamy leeks and green lentils. The last of the toffee-rum-banana tarte tatin for pud.
