OH has asked for soup yet again so I'm getting out one of the leftover pots from the freezer to see whether it's edible. He likes the tinned soup so if he doesn't fancy what I'm having that's fine.

I also remember making Haddock Mornay at Domestic Science in school circa 1973, baked fish in cheese sauce5 -

We’re having moussaka tonight, followed by a rum toffee banana tart tatin with a dollop of thick cream. About 90% of the ingredients for the entire dinner came from the community fridge, including the lamb mince, aubergines, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, garlic, herbs, bananas, cream and puff pastry so it’s a very frugal dinner indeed. There’s so much, it will feed us tomorrow too.4 -
And the butter sauce was the best thing about it, the fish was small and rubbery.
Tonight we had salad, actifry potatoes and I made some small quiches to use up some pastry I had bought to make mince pies, but didn't use. Daughter had vegan quorn dinosaurs with her salad and chips.4
