OH finally got himself out of the house and down to the market. Eggs and bacon purchased plus a guinea fowl! And then he toddled on to Sinsbugs and got himself a shepherds pie and me some moussaka!! Got some firecracker lamb burgers and asparagus from the community fridge, so we'll have them with some oven chips.3

Happy New Year! Haven’t posted on this thread for ages, but I still enjoy reading all of your posts, it’s great dinner inspiration. We had breaded chicken fillets, garlic mash, broccoli/cauliflower/beans/peas with fake ikea sauce and HM bread for the mash dodger. I had a LM burger instead of the chicken as am doing Vegetarianury, which I’m well aware is not a word or indeed a Thing.Books read 2023 - 49/755

Tonight while baking some small cakes I cooked two frozen Aldi 'no pork' sausage rolls at the same time in the small oven. We had those with mashed potatoes, herby chopped tomatoes and green beans. Another slice of the lemon cake after.3

I cooked a casserole today - first since I have been trying not to use big oven so much. I did a large size sausage casserole - made 8 portions - only had enough dumpling mix to make 4 small ones. I have no room in my freezers so it will be casserole for 4 days - will vary it - with rice or with fried off cooked jacket potato or noodles/cous cous.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I'm hoping for schnitzel with boiled new potatoes. It will depend on him with the bad cough and what he fancies though. Either way likely I'm the one cooking.
Question - when do new potatoes stop being new? I'm guessing these are either grown some place relatively tropical and imported with a zillion air miles or someone has developed a very thin skinned variety to keep us all happy.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Tonight I’m doing the chicken. I’ll do roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli, stuffing, peas, gravy and cranberry sauce. The meat will do 2 meals so I’ll strip it and freeze the rest:money::rotfl::T2 -
Today we bought an Aldi vegan smokey bac'n and mushroom stuffed crust pizza for £2.49, it was tasty and cooked well from raw dough. Had half each with peas, carrots and cauliflower, followed by another slice of the lemon cake.3

Rerun of last night for me, oxtail casserole with cavolo nero and a couple of yorkshires.OH had a meat free kiev, peas and alphabite stars. Oddly his kiev seemed to take a long time to cook in the air fryer, just wouldn't cook in the middle for some reason.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
