It's a slow cooked casserole of beef, mushrooms, onions and red peppers in red wine for us tonight, with a little bit of mashed potato, carrots and green veg of some kind. It's cold and foggy out there, definitely casserole weather!
I have also made a bread and butter pudding with some brioche bread which was going a bit stale.4 -
I made the bolognaise sauce earlier with added veg and lentils to make the meat go further. Half I’ve frozen for another dinner. The rest I’ve made a lasagne with. One good thing with lockdown is that I learnt to make my own béchamel sauce. Now the only thing I buy is the lasagne sheets. I’ve got a garlic baguette in the fridge too and I fancy going whole hog and having chips for a triple carb special dinner:money::rotfl::T5

I may cook the Bratwurst sausages that are still in the fridge after changing to fish on Tuesday. I need to use up some cooking apples as well.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

We did an early raid on Lidl to gather food for Christmas, OH nearly feinted at the cost, a bit of a wake up call for him as he rarely goes near a supermarket but the fridge and freezer are now stocked with only fresh to buy nearer the time.
