@Florenceem well done on the sale

@C_J how did the ninja go?

We were out (out out) last night for a friend's birthday...we rolled home rather late (early) and although i don't feel as bad as i really should (we don't actually know how many bottles of prosecco we consumed) i don't fancy cooking much.
So out comes the sandwich toaster and it's cheese n beans toasties with the football.

@Brie my OH refers to a cone as a poke (pronounced pokey) hat. They used to get poke hats of sweets from the ice cream man as kids.

Really well, I’m impressed with it (so far!). I steamed the chicken breasts in a little seasoned stock for 10 minutes first, did a slow release of the steam, then drained off the remaining liquid and air fried the potatoes/veg/steamed chicken for about 12 minutes. It all came out perfectly.

It’ll be a learning curve I think, but a promising start.

I had a disaster with the beef today. It went into the slow cooker and 6 hours later I couldn't get a fork into it.
I had about 90 mins until my parents were due. I tried so hard to use my ninja pressure cooker function but it wouldn't seal.
I ended up slicing the beef, pouring stock over it and braising it. It was better but still a bit tough.
My mother mentioned a few times that it wasnt good. However when she suggested I shouldn't give any to the dog as it might choke her, I got the point.

I'm usually a decent cook, the rest of the dinner was ok and my yorkshires were fab.

The moral of my story is I will try to use all the functions on my ninja and not just the airfry.

@JIL that's so annoying when you spend so long trying to cook something and it doesn't work out - I'm not sure I'd have been too chuffed at the 'helpful' comments though. Do you have any beef left over? Sure it can be turned into something lovely. I'm also sure the hound would gratefully accept any beef without complaint.

Quite agree about the (not) helpful comments.  Anything beyond the first "oh my" isn't necessary.  I've eaten at friends' houses a few times when it was obvious that they are not culinary stars in the least.  Like anything I figure it's always better to find something nice to say like "who needs beef when the yorkies are this divine!?!"
