I've suggested burgers for tonight which will mean 2 burgers for him and 1 for me with a second burger patty on the plate with salad. I might even forgo the first bun but it's hard to have a burger with cream cheese on it. But I might be willing to give it a try. (other toppings will be sliced tomato and bernaise sauce)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I made piri piri chicken with some thighs that I got cheaply served with spicy rice, macho peas, corn on the cob and garlic bread. I had a bean burger with mine.
I made a lemon cake and cooked a chicken for tomorrow.
If we have a roast the potatoes will go in the actifry, although they may turn into chips and be eaten with salad.4 -
GS and his mum have gone to visit family till Friday, so we’re enjoying the peace 🤣
dinner tonight will be spicy pork steaks with salad and potato salad for DH, there’s ice cream in the freezer for him too, I’ve got chopped melon if I fancy it.Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

A quick visit to the community fridge this morning yielded some lovely free veg and sachets of Hello Fresh cooking sauces, so I have coated a couple of chicken breasts in a Korean chilli, apple, pear and soy one. I've not tried it before but it smells lovely. I'll roast the chicken and serve with sauteed chestnut mushrooms, leeks, tenderstem broccoli and courgettes (all of which were from either the community fridge or the garden).
I've also made a crustless mushroom and leek cheesy quiche to have with salad tomorrow night.3 -
We had cousins for lunch (well they came to visit and ate with us, not that we had them roasted or anything....) so OH did platters of meat and cheese from the Polish deli. They had the loveliest tomatoes which were sliced and served with basil and olive oil. Big bowl of potato salad (Lidl!). Rolls, rye bread and sonnenblumenbrot (mit pumpkin seeds...my german only goes so far). Strawberries and squirty cream for afters.
So we'll be having more of the same for supper in a bit.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
