I have made Jamie Oliver's recipe for Pasta Alla puttanesca as we had tomatoes that needed to be used up. It is really tasty. We had that at lunchtime as I am often not well enough to cook later in the day. I have made some soup for dinner using up leftover veg and I have a Victoria sponge in the oven for OH who is complaining that there is no cake.

I have a chicken in the Remoska for just over an hour, with carrots, halved baby potatoes and an onion - I spatchcocked the chicken (first time ever!) and brined it in 4 cups buttermilk (well, milk soured with lemon juice), two tbs salt and 1 tbs pepper - the recipe called for garlic granules/powder but I find that stuff always goes rock-hard in the jar, so I used 'VeryLazy Garlic'. The recipe is by The Stay at Home Chef - her You Tube channel shows how to do the spatchcocking if you haven't done it before.
Will let you know how it turns out.
For pudding, we have a slice each of Rhubarb and Lemon Tart, made last May so I thought it best to get it out of the freezer and into our tums!

Had our honking big pork chops done on the Weber last night.  Mash and peas on the side.  My chop was so big I couldn't finish it!  (well I did a couple of hours later.....)

Pizza tonight - OH is going to go to the shops to get a couple that we can decorate.  I'm hoping to have a large slice left to take for my lunch at the office tomorrow.

The work restaurant has become completely hit and miss and badly prepared as it's closing in a couple of weeks and the one proper chef they had has left to work elsewhere.  It's a shame as he was very good at his job and very creative - I think he liked the job though he was much too good for it as it never included evenings or weekends unlike so many chef jobs.  But the company that runs/ran the restaurants on all our company's sites had become overly prescriptive too and insisted that all "contact centre/business sites" had to serve the same things at the same prices.  It was probably just a matter of time before they closed ours as no one wants to pay London prices when you can cross the road and get something sometimes at half the price.
