Cooked some pasta with tomato pasta sauce tonight. Located one lone veggie sausage in the freezer so that got grilled, chopped and thrown in. OH had a plate with chilli flakes added to his.

I cooked some petit pois and chucked those in mine, with some goats cheese (freezer stock) and spinach (also freezer stock) and added some grated mozzarella on top of mine with a lug of olive oil.

Had the day off work and husband and I cleaned the house from top to bottom,  so tired afterwards that we had salad and bits from the freezer cooked in the actifry. ( breaded prawns, quorn nuggets, calamari, halloumi fingers)

I improvised a huge pan of cannelloni from various things that had been hanging around in the fridge and freezer as well as some passata in cartons that were a huge fiddle faddle to rinse out so that's made a bit more space in the fridge veg drawer.

Do you mean the goat's cheese had been frozen?  Does it thaw well?  Some things just aren't right afterwards and I don't think I've ever frozen cheese though I've often enough bought frozen pizza that has cheese on it of course.

OH had bought some potatoes to bake with pork chops which then we didn't fancy and have subsequently frozen.  So the plan last night was to just have the potatoes with beans or cheese or tuna but then OH started whispering kfc kfc the way he does.  So I turned the mostly baked taters off and went out to get that.  One of 3 potatoes had somewhat exploded so I hope to repurpose them into twice bakers adding what's left of the third to scooped out halves of the other 2.  Mix in some chopped shallots and cheese and butter with chopped chives on top.  The question is what to have with them.  I'd happily thaw some more chicken (2 nights in a row??) but may instead pop out to get some ribs or similar.

I do need some herbal tea which only seems to be in one shop which has a butcher nearby so that will be easy enough.

Meanwhile Thursday market day - our meat guy had the pigs cheeks we asked for last week.  Apparently this is the basic ingredient in the carbonara that Stanley Tucci was talking about a couple of weeks back on his programme about Italian food.  Hoping OH sorts that for tomorrow's dinner.

Yes I froze the goats cheese (there's not much that doesn't get lobbed in our freezer if required). It froze fine - better than semi-hard cheeses like cheddar that go crumbly when frozen and defrosted (so grate then freeze)
I just chucked the goats cheese in the freezer in it's pack, and it thawed out exactly like it had been pre-frozen. I use it in risotto or cheese sauce too - basically anything that needs some cheesy odds and ends thrown in.

Some chicken and veg soup. I put the carcass of the chicken in the slow cooker last night so now have the stock in the fridge and will add veg to taste.
