We had roast lamb yesterday - an indulgent (and expensive!) treat, but we haven't had it for aaaages and it is my tip top favourite
So to make the remainder of the £14 half leg go as far as possible, I have made a big pan of lamb biriyani for tonight and tomorrow, and will also make some spicy lamb and chickpea fritters to have in wraps with salad later in the week (might be enough for two nights of that too).
They were giving away boxes and boxes of limes at the Community Fridge today - any suggestions for what I can make with them? The last few times this has happened (it's quite a regular occurrence!) I have made a few jars of lime marmalade, and three jars of Indian lime pickle. Plenty of that to be going on with. I fancy turning these into a dessert, but can only come up with the idea of tweaking a lemon meringue pie into a lime version. Any other ideas, folks?
I have sliced and frozen a couple of limes already, because they're ace in a G&T

Evening all
i love citrus puddings or desserts. Definitely underrated
tonight we had salmon with a body and soy sauce I made. Some of the cheap maggi noodles. I’ve tried different noodles but these are the nicest even if they are 20c more expensive a packet the extra is worth it. I put in mixed peppers, onions and peas. I enjoyed it
I’m due back to the UK next week or a funeral. We’ve therefore decided to move back the big monthly shop till 23rd or 24th April so I’ve got 2 weeks to really use the freezer, cupboards etc.:money::rotfl::T3 -
@Islandmaid Lime curd!! That's a fab idea - I will then have jars of it ready for August/September for the courgette avalanche (courgette cake sandwiched together with lime curd is divine). Thank you for the reminder!
@Brie I want a margarita now. So much.4 -
