Treated myself to a ham and mushroom tagliatelle for Asda. Very disappointed, it was bland and tasteless.

  • Lunch today will be pate on toast and supper tonight will be a baked bean based savoury roast from one of my cookery book finds at Mottisfont the other day with jacket potatoes and home made red cabbage coleslaw. Digestive biscuit topped apple crumble and plain skyr followed by a cup of coffee.

It's definitely £2.40 I'll be saving myself in future. The sauce was like eating glue (one would imagine...it's not actually something I've ever done).

I had spaghetti and tinned mushrooms, there was barely any ham in it anyway TBH so I could've actually made a version of my own in hindsight but just wanted something easy.

Not sure what today is, got some rtc spuds yesterday and half a swede (which was bigger than the whole ones) so might do something marshy with something.

We are having roast beef, Yorkshire puddings, roasties and Roast Parsnips - the beef was sliced and frozen from a large joint cooked before Christmas.

For pud, as a nod to our holiday, I have made Creme Catalana

Making chicken and Sweetcorn soup from the rubber chicken stock for work lunches (please don't make me go back...)

Welcome back IM - at least it is a short week next week.

I am making a beef and sausage meatloaf for dinner tonight (and tomorrow) with cabbage and carrots. Apple crumble for pud.
