Thanks Cheery! Yes, that's exactly the difference. The big push today was cleaning the kitchen rubbish bin, which has been sitting outside for about 4 weeks, which has meant the table has sometimes had some very unsavoury bags on it, and it actually creates more work than cleaning the RL bin. So I cleaned it. Only about 5 mins, but bit of a headrush with bending down/getting up. Still, it's drying off in the bath now.
Badmemory, yes, I had the flu jab about 10 days ago, other people round here have had some very bad reactions, but I was fine - normal soreness around the injection site, but that's nothing.2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -
I had my flu jab yesterday afternoon and like you, KC, just that little achy bit around the top of my arm, although that said, I have slept all afternoon after a short walk of maybe 40 minutes at lunch time. We have our boosters booked. Entirely separately we are both on the same day, at my designated pharmacy rather than the big vacc centre and just an hour apart, so a quick coffee morning opportunity! Not until next month but should be fine!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Plodding is definitely the way to go for me, beanie
that said, I feel a bit better today. It's raining, but I still need to put the washing machine on, so it *will* go on. No further message from Sainsbo, and I need to move some money in Principality, so that's the finance job for today.

Yep, sometimes plodding is the only way to go. Plodding successes today: dishwasher, washing machine, both used. My sister told me a good Christmas present for her - a bug hotel
very apt for me to give to her
Two huge wins came about because it's been about two months (yes really) since I opened any post. A lot of rubbish - the industrial-sized marketing schemes have returned with a vengeance
, all of that's gone to the recycling bin, which is emptied tomorrow
and a few things I actually need:
- new Visa card (not the disputed one) as old one set to expire
- info from Sainsbo on how to renew security. Can't do that today, I've had enough.
- as I thought, dentist has gone private. £16 per month will give me one checkup and two hygiene appointments each year, there's a few options there.
- ring up and complain to Damart when I can cope with doing it. They used to send me half a dozen catalogues a year (how many dead trees!) after I bought *one* base layer from them. Finally got them to stop a few years ago, and since the pandemic started to be ignored, they've obviously found their old database and thought, to hell with it. I won't let that go on.2023: the year I get to buy a car3 -
Ooh, you've reminded me - didn't you manage to get yourself off the Pavers catalogue list a while back?? I've never even bought anything from them but am somehow on a list, and so far my attempts to be removed have been in vain! Can you remember what you tried??
Well done for opening the post!3 -
KC & Cheery - I'm with you on the unwanted catalogue frustration.
A certain store that I do actually buy from once a year in their sales, just would not take me off their mailing list, despite me explaining to them that I already get their e-mails and only buy from them once a year as they are otherwise unaffordable. No joy in over two years. In frustration, I found their founding CEO on link3din & sent her a private message - customer service contacted me & apologized for the oversite & magically I'm off the list!
In our new home, the former owners are on every old lady/man shopping catalogue list going. I called up customer service of the latest one & explained that even when I get old, I certainly won't be wearing the frumpy overpriced goods they sell - got a laugh from their rep & address removed off the mailing list!
Sometimes it takes being forceful to get simple things like that done. Too bad Giki does not have a tab for stopping unwanted paper advertising! I'd have saved oodles of CO2 by now!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! RT, have you registered with the Mailing Preference Service? It might help. Otherwise, I'd just RTS, Addressee unknown and hopefully they'll get the message. Not much fun though. At least you got a laugh out of the rep!
Sorry to hear about the Damart shenanigans KC, but you've reminded me to send an email to Mint Velvet, which I've never bought anything from, but who seem to have added me to their postal list - hopefully that'll stop now.

One company told me, when I was dealing with my mother's affairs as she had gone in a care home, that they wouldn't stop sending her brochures unless I sent them a copy of the POA. Fine I said, just keep wasting the postage because she isn't going to be buying anything from anywhere. She had deteriorated very suddenly. Just how important do they think they are?
