I wasn't expecting that in a KC diary update! I hope it all gets sorted out quickly and smoothly for you. Any idea how it might have happened?3

Hi SSS - it's an outlier, isn't it! I've no idea how it happened - I haven't bought anything with that card for at least a month, I still have the card, I'm the only cardholder. So either someone was playing random numbers and letters through a computer testing for passwords, or more probably there might well be a supplier that I pay with this card, who's been hacked. I don't save my card details if I can possibly avoid it, but sometimes, it's got to be done. I hope they tell me *where* the money's gone, that might give me a clue.

Awww, thank you both
no news yet. I need to speak with them - money is due to leave my bank account on Friday to pay this credit card, I need to check they won't take it. If they do, I'm in trouble, I don't have enough to cover that (unless I break into the regular saver I have with my bank, I suppose, but I don't want to do that!).
Central heating service engineer called, all's well, electronic feedback told him the boiler didn't need servicing (3 years! Okay, fine) there was an oddly shaped plastic piece with a seal that was visibly deteriorating, he replaced it when I okayed him to go ahead without a prior quote (I want to just get it done). So, a bit of ta-da:
- boiler is fine.
- 2 loads washing (lightly soiled, covid precautions) done, another 2 coats to wash.
- warm house! My feet are warm! Bliss
- engineer was great, no problem about masks, he used the side entrance, I'd cleared the kitchen, all good.
- GP surgery rang with the offer of a flu jab tomorrow afternoon, which I'm going to take. I don't think I'm in the middle of a full-blown chronic fatigue attack, I'm just tired with whats been happening this last week, which is a fairly normal reaction, I think. It would be great to get the jab.
And as a reminder of what *can* happen: my whole neighbourhood turned out at lunchtime, including me - a hospital helicopter landed on our recreation ground, some poor soul got carted off from the pre-schoolers' building, presumably to a specialist hospital in London.

Flu jab is supposed to be this afternoon, I've become unsure whether or not to postpone it - just had a look at the NHS website, and it should be fine. So aggravating. It's distracted me, so I still haven't phoned about the cc card taking money I don't have, and I *really* need to do that. Will do that next.

I've been trying, RT - spent two hours on the phone, on 3 different phone calls, just had another 20 minutes with a ridiculously superficial "reply" via Sainsbo website. The whole company seems completely untrustworthy to me, there's been one decent person I've spoken to in the entire debacle. My bank has agreed not to pay the DD tomorrow, though the money may temporarily disappear - I hope that turns out to be correct, because I'm almost £2,000 short of what's needed. I really don't want a sort of "contagion" spreading to my bank account.
I did get my flu jab in the end - financial stress is one thing, I don't want a flu bug as well!2023: the year I get to buy a car4
