@Karmacat
I have GF and DF allergies too but I have noticed some Sains reduced GF pizza bases that look worth a try.. I am just starting trying to try more GF bread recipes as they tend to not rise well.
@shangaijimmy that pizza sounds amazing ,,, I will attempt a GF home version ... love chilli oil with spicy chicken and BBQ sauce .. wow thats the stuff dreams are made ofDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I had fraudulent use of my Ha'fax Clarity card a year or so ago ( nothing like the amount you're dealing with, but it was clearly some test amounts. They flagged a £1.28 payment as suspicious and contacted me. It was brilliantly dealt with in under a day, three other increasing amounts were declined, I wouldn't have known, but they were seriously proactive.

Many years ago now, DH's wallet was stolen from the front seat of his car while he popped to a post box opposite (and left the passenger door unlocked
and he did not notice. I received a call from HSBC the next day, alerting me (we think there is fraud on your husband's card...) and there it was, as he had caught the flight to Germany that morning. In contrast, Lloyds cancelled the card but could not stop the fraudulent transactions and relied on my contacting them after each one to get it refunded. M&S politely declined to let DH be an additional card-holder any more as their records showed previous loss within two years. The police told us the Lloyds card was recovered about nine months later under a floorboard in a drugs den, having been passed on and only then did it stop.

Just checking in to see how you're doing KC 😊 Did the bank nonsense get sorted out? Have you had another flu jab appointment? Hope you're off having adventures and haven't been getting too soggy in the weather.4

Aww, thank you all! I've partly been a bit snowed under stress-wise, and partly the planned changeover of ISP took place on 29th October - I couldn't bear to use my phone on here, so I didn't come on. So, since I was last on:
- had my flu jab last Thursday, it was fine. Couldn't sleep on that side for 3 days, to be expected, all good now.
- flu jab people were saying 1st May for the 2nd jab was the cutoff for the 3rd jab - I was on 6th May, so another week or so to go before I'm minimally eligible for booster for covid vacc.
- green bin malarkey yesterdayI managed half an hour's work on Monday. Half a dozen freshly rooted brambles were told where to get off
- supermarket delivery £80 or so yesterday, cleanly delivered, and I've washed *most* of it - I shall do the rest tomorrow.
- today has been router/modem faffing - I took forever, plugging it in, making sure the "on" button got switched on, no spaces in the password I copied and pasted, all that sort of rubbish, which actually takes ***forever***for me.
- boiler service was done and dusted very easily, invoice has arrived while I've been offline.
- and the credit card. Or as I like to think of it, The Credit Card Blues. The money wasn't taken from my bank account, and there's no stroppy messaging from Sains yet, so it looks like I'm partially believed, at any rate, but its still outstanding. I've also noticed that the last four digits of the card listed are not the same as *my* four digits, which isn't right, surely? Sent them a message via their secure wotnots, as I'm not sure they've noticed. I don't feel up to talking to them today.
Actions:
- log on to my bank, see how the non-payment to the credit card is portrayed there, as well as checking the new 3% for £50 a month Regular Saver.
- email copies of my identity docs that Sainsbo have requested, email them to my sister - one of them needs certifying. I couldn't do it before my router was sorted, and I wasn't strong enough to do that until today.
- sister will bring over the copies she prints on Friday, we're pencilled in for a walk.
- pay my plumber online, leave good feedback on checkatrade.

So, some of the action list carried out:
- the new £50 a month RS saver is showing up in the records and working as it should, along with the much lower rate ordinary RS.
- money hasn't gone to the defrauded cc, thankfully.
- paid plumber online - I'll hunt out the checkatrade ref.
- caught up on most diaries on here, hurray.
- ooh, and I won £25 on the PB!2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -

Karmacat said:OCTOBER NOVEMBER PLOT UPDATE
ADMIN
New aim: £5,000 new money over the next year, for premium bonds/ car.
send some euros to the UKfund principality accountssend London friend the genealogy info
LARGER PROJECTSDecide on what to knit for the new baby, with the wool I already have. And start knitting!Purchases: Christmas presents. Good lord, Christmas presents!
Prepare for winter's garden diy tasks.
Cutting back the garden.
Cleaning. It's now much better than it was, but some areas still look like a slum 😮
Clearing away in living room, bedroom, and kitchen, so that I can get people in for quotes.
TAKEAWAY POINTS:
Only 3 small jobs to be done, and I'll easily be able to complete those by the end of October.
Six larger items, projects really - first three are untouched, working steadily at the other three.
Overview: timescale of a month suits me really well! What's been happening? A few days of the Hampshire holiday; 4 birthdays catered to; Christmas cards found (though smaller than I thought); day out with nephew and his family has been causing *endless* negotiation; Space and Astronomy Group at U3A ditto, but I'm the awkward one there - transport, covid status, blah blah. For sure, November will be including researching a driving instructor for those refresher lessons. On the whole, though, very pleased.) and cleaning in the house, a little bit. The chronic fatigue attack has really held me back.
So there are leftover jobs from October after all:
1. send some euros to the UK2. fund principality accounts3. send London friend the genealogy info
Plus:
4. research a driving instructor for refresher lessons.
5. clearing big bookcase in living room ready to move it around (already started)
6. research a project about space junk - I volunteered at the Space and Astronomy Group, argh.
7. write out Christmas cards, I really, really really want them ready to go by the end of November.
8. a trip to the charity shop before much longer, passing things on to clear up space.
9. actually **look** at the Highway Code I bought - you never learn from books by osmosis, you have to read them
