- phone repair man again, leave my mobile number this time.
Done.
- send a birthday card to ex-partner, with a note, ages since I've had contact.
Done, and I even posted it
- pop out to get a little bit of easy-to-arrange fresh food, go to Waitrose, they'll have some nice stuff
Nope, not going to do this - I have a chilled orange juice that I think is okay, I can push the boat out and chop up an onion, with that and the tinned stuff, I'm good for today. I'm off out tomorrow, so thats all right.
- sort a list of email addresses to contact about the 78rpm records, I've arranged the list in a slightly more logical order.
Not done this yet, I want to get out in the garden (didn't manage that this morning).
- pay French taxes, got to be done before the end of the month, better to do it now.
Done.
- while I'm about it, there's a new log on to the French management company, I'd better set that up, check if there's anything I owe, their paperwork is incomprehensible, so the only thing I trust is their website!
Done. I think - Its just a new shell and new website ID, everything else is the same, and it still says I'm in credit by nearly 90 euros, which I think I'm going to send an email about, its been nearly six months.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: thanks SL! It's great to get those tasks done, little identifiable ones rather than the huge "dig up all brambles"
I'm off out today to a family lunch :j so no tasks to be done, little or otherwise, except to make sure I switch off the freezer as I leave the house - the freezer's working a tiny bit, but the fridge isn't. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and buy a new one, which I'll treat a lot more kindly than I treated this one

Thanks beanie
I had lunch at my sister's on both days, in the end, on the Sunday my nephew with a year old toddler popped in. Gorgeous baby (aka Tiny Human
I adore that phrase), very active, they've made a decision not to use stairgates  which leads to a lot of running up and down - quite fun for a couple of hours, actually, I wouldn't like to live my life by it :rotfl:
Lots of holibob planning, I have some plotting to do:
- caravan in Kent in the first part of next month
- home to Merseyside in the second part of next month
- side trip to Yorkshire for a day
- catsitting in November :j
- cruise next August: Greenland and Iceland :j:j:j2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Holiday planning sounds a lovely thing to be doing.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Thanks Watty - it is, you're right! Bought train ticket for Merseyside, checked on Wednesday activities during the trip to Yorkshire, sister is coming over here on Friday for cruise planning
Time for lunch now, then I'll be using whatever energy I've got to fill up half my neighbour's green bin, he's said its all clear for me, bless 'im

Ooh, Greenland and Iceland cruise sounds like excellent fun! :j0

I think so too, Cheery - like Norway in that the ship calls at tiny little places (less than 5,000 people) but very different geologically and historically. Ship is smaller too
Right, forecast for the next few days is dire, but its not raining *quite* yet. Off to the garden2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Sounds like a lovely weekend, you have a lovely neighbour and definitely agree about holiday planning sounding fun (it’s dark and I can hear rain lashing against the windows - of course holiday planning sounds fun!). Definitely agree that the cruise destinations sounds very interesting!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks madvix
I'm lucky with that neighbour, its true. I'm also lucky that my sister wants to go on the same sort of exploratory stuff that I do
Boy, that rain is something, isn't it! I stayed out in it while it was drizzling, so I could get the bin full, though not long. A *lot* of garbage has gone - including, embarrassingly, most of the top of the foot-high ant hillknocked it off, left it overnight, very few ants there, and no eggs at this time of year of course. There were still a lot of "easy" hits like that, that meant I filled it up.
Today, I'm finishing off the holiday planning, and finishing off little projects, in the house or on the computer: I'm nearly ready to spread my wings, when the energy I'm using on the garden can be redirected to everyday life. End of September is the deadline2023: the year I get to buy a car0
