  • A neighbour has a fig tree. Don't know if the fruit got ripe enough to eat this year. My best fig tree experience was in Portugal on the south side of the river in lisbon, sitting in a fig tree and gorging on them with some friends. Deeeelicious!

Absolutely, if you're as far south as Portugal, your fig tree experiences are going to be magnificent :j

Well, I don't want to make too light of it, but it was a day op at the GP practice, I was there just under two hours, and I've now started on the painkillers - really, it's nothing compared to what people like beanie, or people with migraines, go through constantly. Mine's a one-off that will get better very soon. Stitches out in 10 days :) but thank you for worrying! I'm trying not to do anything because any operation is an assault on the system, even if you don't feel it as such at the time.

 Hmmm, perhaps I tried to do too little yesterday :o I was awake for *three* hours last night! I should probably have had a little walk in the late afternoon, I think. Anyway, today is a late start because of that, thank heavens I managed to get back to sleep at about 5am.

So today ... I need to get a grip, even though I can't do any gardening, which is really my focus. The wm is on, and I could do with opening the post :o plus my fridge freezer switched itself off last night. I need to learn about maintenance in *so* many ways - I'm sure it got so iced up it decided to give up. More later.

  • Hope you've been able to sort out the ff. Did a stern talking to it help?

I've been very stern, but also very apologetic :D:o I'm going to confess that I think the problem is never taking out the drain tray, or box, whatever it's called ... it's still defrosting, the top of the freezer is completely clogged up with ice, we'll see. I might need to change a fuse in the plug too, of course :o

There should be a small drain hole inside the fridge. It sometimes gets clogged up and can be cleared by poking with something. Usually fixes things for me:j.

Look on YouTube, most things can be fixed after watching videos on there. I fixed my tumble dryer yesterday:j thanks to YouTube. when I'd been worried I might need to call a repair man out (with the expense that I can ill afford:o)

    Good luck:beer:

Yep, found that! Can I ask ... where does it drain *to*? Does the water recycle, evaporate, what?

Not sure about your model but glad you've found the manual:beer:. Mine just drains into a small receptacle on the outside rear of the fridge-freezer. It's situated just above the motor? which gets warm and it evaporates into the air. Seems a bit primitive but that's what happens with mine.

Mine's the same, Scrimpess. I thought I might need to change the fuse, but the electrics still work. The cooling element doesn't, however :( and I'll have to look today if they can be replaced, or I need to buy another entirely, grrr.

At the moment, I'm glued to my laptop screen watching my sister's plane come in to land. I'm sure I saw it overhead, it was only 6,200 feet by then, I love flight tracker :)

ETA can't quite trust it though - at one stage, it was giving a readout of 250 feet below sea level. Half a mile from the airport :rotfl:
