Oh no Sheils..Did we steal the good weather ..it's totally wonderful here! Hope it improves for you. Pansys are so hardy..Most of my neighbours have some of mine that have grown when the winds blown the seeds into cracks in the wall !
Garden grass cut, weeds pulled in one boarder..tulips almost out. Planted wild flowers Poppies, cornflowers , cowslips, hollyhocks and fox gloves. I'm not a formal gardener I prefer wild meadow look full of bees and butterflys.
I really need a new garden table mines rotted..Will keep an eye out for comps!
One bed changed clothes on the line..Now off to wash the bathroom and hall floor . Early postie today B-day card and my Eldest son passed an exam which is equivalent to a C grade GCSE..now I need to try and find something to store it in lol
Hugs and love to all!Compers challenge 27/70

:hello: Good morning everyone

glorious day!mummy2threeboys wrote: »Pansys are so hardy..Most of my neighbours have some of mine that have grown when the winds blown the seeds into cracks in the wall !

You're a girl after my own heart mummy2! I much prefer
the countryside/natural look. I've got a wonderful mix of
all sorts of plants - something to meet the needs of all
wildlife, even the spiders are catered for in my bamboo
jungle! :rotfl:
Also big congrats to your son re exam results. :T
You're right about pansies - such hardy little flowers and
so pretty. Think yours will be fine sheils, despite the
rain.
I've just seen Hever Castle on the TV - tulips are beautiful
there (20,000 planted!) - I must go back and visit again,
haven't been there for yonks. Beautiful castle, full of
history.

And also on the theme of wildlife .....
Here's a link for anyone interested in becoming a Wildlife
Warrior!
There's still so many problems re use of pesticides ...
We are campaigning for a farming system that works in harmony
with nature – join us as a Wildlife Warrior and get UK wildlife back
on its tiny feet.
Calling all Wildlife Warriors!
Our wildlife is in serious trouble. Do you see as many butterflies
today as you did when you were a child? And have you noticed
that the dawn chorus doesn’t sing as loudly as it once did?
Pesticides are a big part of the problem. They are having a
devastating impact on pollinator numbers and with less insects to
go around, birds and animals are suffering too.
We’re calling all Wildlife Warriors to come together and help UK
wildlife get back on its tiny feet.

Have a wonderful day all and please take care whatever
your plans.

Hope everyone is still enjoying their sunshine. Sun did come out here for a few hours yesterday afternoon but it was still windy. Wet and misty here at the moment.
I saw a programe on Hever Castle a little while ago Alfie. (Think it was the dog walking series that was on) It did look really interesting.
Thanks for lucky ladybird FF.
Not much planned for today.

:hello: Good morning everyone
I hope you're all ok. It's going to be another very warm
day here today and I think you will be enjoying some
sunshine up your way sheils. :j
Took advantage of the weather and managed to wash
the covers on one settee. Thankfully they are washable
cos they're cream coloured and tend to show up any
spec of dirt, particularly after I've been looking after
the family doggies & they come bounding in from the
garden with muddy paws! :rotfl::rotfl:
They are so comfy though, really squishy, although
the covers get fairly heavy when wet and would take an
age to dry in the tumble drier (it would also be very
costly to dry them that way:eek:) so it was lovely to get
them dried outside. Will be doing the same with 2-seater
settee and chair today (hopefully!).
Also going to pop out early today to shops to get some
food provisions in, mainly salad/quiches etc because
it seems the decent weather will be here until at least
Sunday.
Hope all is well with you and yours rose. xxx
Well must fly - have a lovely and lucky day all and please
take care whatever your plans.

Good Morning,
Glad you are enjoying the sunshine and making good use of it Alfie.
It isn't raining here and the sun is out faintly but not supposed to stay.
Forecast is for 12C so won't be out sunbathing! Our area is really being left out with rain coming back on Saturday. At least we are heading to the east on Sunday where the weather looks better.
Not got much planned for today but think we might plan a trip to one of our nearest NTS gardens -Threave tomorrow.
Good luck everyone.

:hello: Good morning everyone
Hope you're all well - it's another glorious day here,
just been out watering the tubs, feeding the birdies,
sorting out bird baths etc.
I agree fire**fly, salads are perfect at the mo. Although
this springs to mind .... 'Ne'er cast a clout till May be
out'! Apparently next week will see the return of
'normal' weather for this time of year. We may also
have thunder tomorrow towards the end of the day!
Think all the London marathon runners will find the warm
weather a bit tricky on Sunday. They've already been advised
not to wear costumes due to the exceptional heat. Hope they'll
all be ok. :A
Have a lovely time at Threave gardens sheils, if you're
venturing out there today.
^^ Just found this! Hottest day UK - April 1949!
Have a lovely and lucky day all and please take care
whatever your plans.

I haven't been to Hever I should do really , looks lovely , Leeds is so close to us and last 3 years we have won annual tickets..sadly not this year YET.
My Elderly neighbour passed away Wed which also happened to be my 40th. She lived here all her life and her parents used to have our house , and so this house we are in was hers as a child. Shes the longest standing resident of the road and a right character! I nipped in that day as I locked myself out again! She had a nasty chest infection but she has always suffered from them and bounced back, wasn't any reason to Think this one was any different. She always had loads of people checking on her, helping her . They think it was a heart attack and was very quick as she was half dressed for bed.
So we have been pulling together and informing people as per her familys wishes . The local paper boy now 28! Was crying his eyes out, That was hard telling him poor chap, she was like a nan to a lot of kids here . She will be terribly missed. The end of an Era for sure.
Peace and love to all xxCompers challenge 27/70
