We’re starting to add tags to Competitions Time to help make competitions easier to find and follow.
Clicking a tag shows other competitions using the same tag, so it’s a quick way to browse competitions that match what you’re interested in.
You can also follow tags. This lets you keep track of the competition tags you care about most without needing to follow a whole board.
How to follow a tag
- In the Competitions Tags section above, click the tag you’re interested in.
- A small tag card will open.
- Click Follow.
Managing your followed tags
Once you follow a tag, it will be added to your Followed Content page. Depending on your notification settings, followed tags can help you receive Forum notifications, emails, or simply give you an easy place to return to the tags you’re interested in.
Changing your default tag notification setting
You can choose what happens by default when you follow a tag from your Notification Preferences page.
On that page, look for the Tags section. You’ll see a Notify me of new posts option with checkboxes for Forum notifications and email notifications.
Use these checkboxes to choose whether newly followed tags should notify you by default. You can still change the settings for individual tags later from your Followed Content page.
A note about email notifications
Email notifications can be useful for tags you really don’t want to miss, but they may generate a lot of emails if a tag is used often.
For busier tags, you may prefer to use Forum notifications only, or follow the tag without email notifications and check it from your Followed Content page instead.
Still getting used to tags?
This is a new feature for Competitions Time, so we’ll be keeping an eye on how useful the tags are and how Forumites use them. We may adjust the tags over time based on feedback.
