I always read your posts but never post.
I have just read Sheils6 post. My mom has vascular dementia. My advice to you would be to start making plans now eg get POA as possible, if your mom will allow you too. As unfortunately with this illness it progress fairly rapidly. My mom is now in a rsing Home.
I am hoping to get a few comps done this afternoon. Good Luck all xI am a Senior Ambassador on the Competitions Time Board and the Old Style MoneySaving Board.

Hi I Love comps. Sorry to hear about your mom. I think this must be one of the most upsetting diseases ever for the person and their families.
Good luck with your comping.0 -

Thanks for replying I Love comps and sorry about your mum. We are meaning to get a POA soon. The Dr does think it is a mixed vascular/alzheimer case and as she has been attending appointments for 8 years now hopes it won't progress too fast but obviously you can never tell. We also know people whom the tablets have really helped.
Good luck with the comps xMar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

Misty start to the day here and looks like it will stay cloudy.
There is plenty of weeding to be done in the garden so hope at least it stays dry. Don't think our area is going to get much of the good weather that is forecast for next week. Tempted to head of to a different area but we have a couple of breaks already booked soon and then DS1 and gf will be here so had better sort out the garden.
Hope everyone has a lovely day.

:hello: Good morning everyone
I hope you're all in fine fettle today!
It's a misty start to the day here too sheils. Think we're
due sunshine once the mist has disappeared. May go out &
do a bit of gardening myself. We've rainy spells predicted
for tomorrow before the warm spell next week.
It's Cuckoo Day today!
An old English saying says: “The cuckoo sings from St Tiburtius’s
Day to St John’s day [June 24]”. Hence today is sometimes
celebrated as Cuckoo Day in England Although strongly identified
with St Tiburtius’s Day, Cuckoo Day may better be described as a
moveable feast dependent upon the variability of Nature. The
common cuckoo, Cuculus canorus, overwinters in Africa and
returns to the UK in Spring, but the arrival date varies. Several
communities in England, notably Marsden in Yorkshire, have
cuckoo fairs in April to welcome spring. Marsden Cuckoo Festival
takes place each year on a designated Saturday in April near to 14
April. **
Legend has it that the people of Marsden were aware that when
the cuckoo arrived, so did the Spring and sunshine. They tried to
keep Spring forever, by building a tower around the cuckoo.
Unfortunately, as the last stones were about to be laid, the cuckoo
flew away. As the legend says, it “were nobbut just wun course too low.”

** In 2018 it will be on Saturday April 21st.
And if you're not into the Grand National (I watched it once
never again! _pale_) maybe the following would be more your type
of thing!:rotfl::rotfl:
Bideford Sheep Grand National
Where: The Big Sheep near Bideford, Devon
When: Saturday in early April (usually Grand National Day)
If you’re bored with the gee-gees you might consider watching the
Sheep Grand National instead of the conventional horse race on
the same day.
It takes place each April at the Big Sheep visitor centre near
Bideford and the field consists of half a dozen sheep with knitted
jockeys who race over a 250 yard course with various themed
obstacles. Expect a well-dressed crowd, real betting and much
hilarity.
Helpful Hints
The Big Sheep is an ovine theme park with family friendly
attractions (see website link below). There are daily sheep races at
the park from March to October (see their website for details).
In 2018 it will be held on Saturday April 14th (the same day as the
horsy version at Aintree).

A highlight in our sheep race calendar. While many racers are
competing in the British Grand National our favourite competiters;
Red Ram, Wooly Jumper and Little Pullover to name a few will be
battling out for the 2018 Practical Cup.
The 6 sheep and their jockeys have been in secret training for
almost six months and the Sheepstakes promises to have all the
pace, excitment and adrenaline rush watching the Grand National
live!
We hold our normal sheep races every day at 3:50pm.

your plans.

Morning all , perfect here. All housework done , quick comp catch up and then off to the uni in Canterbury ad taking the kids to ID a couple of old skeletons..(Roman and Anglo-Saxon (well They have already been ID but the others don't know that lol) Plus I have a clay pipe that we found which is odd as they maker never stamped them apparently..and mine has their stamp on it!
Gardening tomorrow if weather stays nice.
Hubby sick again, he's never ill, think he's suffering from stress and depression he's my rock so it's a tad worrying.
Clothes that i order from a win showed up..only ordered them 2 days ago! They are stunning!
Used to bet on the nationals until I saw all that deathsheep racing sounds nicer and silly. I was a young farmer and recall my friend getting stuck on top of a run away sheep once lol.
Sheils and ilovecomps. I'm so sorry about your mummys, it is an awful problem. I used to work in care and seen the other side , it's heart breaking for all involved , i'm sorry xxCompers challenge 27/70

FF my DS1 and gf not coming until 15th May, meant we had 2 breaks and then they would be here for holiday.
Nearly went to see the sheep racing when we were down in Devon many years ago Alfie. Think some people were trying to get it stopped last year.
Not entering the cruise comp leanfun. Never really fancied a cruise but would risk 2 weeks if had a top cabin!
Hope your DH is better soon mummy2 and hope you like your clothes.
Not done anything yet as was trying to book a spa morning (won in Oct) It is 2hrs away so was trying to book it on way away somewhere else as it is from 9am - 1pm including lunch. Fully booked on morning I want. Will have to leave it until July/August I think. Must get on now!Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media
