Good Morning,
Really misty here again - supposed to be gone by 9am. Believe it when I see it. Anyway, sun is supposed to come out and temperatures to get up to 13/14c - only 10 degrees or so less than other places! At least no rain forecast again until Sunday (when we are heading off to sunnier places)
Going to have a nice walk on Threave estate , look at gardens and have a picnic I hope.
Hope everyone has a lovely day. Be lucky and if anyone does see the Comping Fairy remind her about me.

My Elderly neighbour passed away Wed which also happened to be my 40th. She lived here all her life and her parents used to have our house , and so this house we are in was hers as a child. Shes the longest standing resident of the road and a right character! I nipped in that day as I locked myself out again! She had a nasty chest infection but she has always suffered from them and bounced back, wasn't any reason to Think this one was any different. She always had loads of people checking on her, helping her . They think it was a heart attack and was very quick as she was half dressed for bed.
So we have been pulling together and informing people as per her familys wishes . The local paper boy now 28! Was crying his eyes out, That was hard telling him poor chap, she was like a nan to a lot of kids here . She will be terribly missed. The end of an Era for sure.
Peace and love to all xx
So very sorry to hear the sad news about your neighbour
mummy2. As you say an end of an era. She sounds
much loved by all. :A Both houses must hold a fascinating
history for all.
Must admit - I did wonder if it was your birthday when you
last posted because you mentioned the postie bringing a
B-day card etc.
Belated 40th birthday wishes to you. :A Sending ((hugs))
& much love. xxx

Thanks all feel a little better if not still lost..like I say more like a nan figure. The outpouring of grief has been very moving , so i'm popping all the notes we are getting in a letter to the family. It was odd today not hearing her moving about it the garden and chatting over the fence. She was a good soul and very stubborn and proud.
Anywho. " neer cast a clout to may be out" My great gran used to say that to me (we where lucky at one point to have 5 generations in the family) There's a debate what it means..to me it means don't pack your coat away intill the end of May others say it means the May flowers which seems daft to me as Mayflowers (Hawthorn) can flower twice depending on conditions.
A little like don't pick sloes until after the first frost. We have had frosts in Jan and frosts in November ..just pick them when they are ripe lol
Reminds me of my great Aunty Queenie she was a "witch" (not my name for her) she was 98 when she died when I was 6 , she was a childless "spinster" and so clever with everything naturewise. I think she was a huge influence on my life and still is.
Had a lovely selection box of 50 yarns turn up as a suprise , so I am off to think what to make with it (small balls) Have a wonderful weekend all.
Sorry for Rambles lots on my mind , love to you all xCompers challenge 27/70

Good Morning,
Another misty start here but the sun is getting through. Supposed to be another nice day. Had a lovely day yesterday at Threave - long country walk, look at gardens and nice picnic. So nice when the sun is out.
Going to have another go at cutting the front lawn later as it was too wet last time. Will have to get packing organised too as off tomorrow. One night in hotel and 4 in a caravan near the beach - can't wait. Lovely coastal walks there.
Hope everyone has a lovely day.

Hope you're all in fine fettle today! It's a beautiful day
here, sun is shining and birdies are singing away.
Just been out to mow my lawns in case we get rain/
thunder later! I can definitely smell rain in the
air though. I think the weather people may be right
about the forecast for later today fire**fly!
Pleased you had a wonderful time at Threave yesterday
sheils. Hope you manage to get your grass cut today
before you go off on your travels again!
Very well done on your win indie - talk about a speedy
delivery! :j :T
mummy 2 - have a wonderful lunch with your Mum today
and a lovely time at the floristry course. Your box of 50
yarns sounds a brilliant surprise win. :T Wonder what you'll
be making?
Mega excited about the following:
I'm fairly excited - applied for the following yesterday.
Not sure if I'll be one of the lucky ones chosen, tried to
enter as quickly as possible - but got fingers & paws
crossed!
Apply for your free trees and be part of the Queen’s
Commonwealth Canopy!
If you're one of the first 5,000 lucky people to apply we'll send you
five saplings to plant in your garden or community.
By planting your saplings you'll be supporting the Queen's
Commonwealth Canopy, helping to create a better future for
wildlife and people. You'll also be helping the Woodland Trust to
reach its target of planting 64 million trees over the next 10 years.
Find out more and apply today http://www.woodlandtru.st/PWxag
Received a lovely email from the Woodland Trust on the
evening of 19th April entitled: 'Do you remember your
Queen's Commonwealth Canopy tree application?'
Opened it up and read the following: 'You've been
successful, congratulations!' Yay! :j :T :j
Soooo happy!
The five saplings will be sent out from 15th October and
in the meantime everyone chosen will receive a copy of
'Your guide to the UK's amazing trees'. I'm really
chuffed.
Been having such a giggle with my daughter & son.
Yesterday evening daughter facetimed me (with
granddaughters), and apparently little 4yr old had
decided to paint her face and arms blue, as you do!
Anyhow mum had eventually managed to clean it off
and all was well - or so they thought.
This morning little granddaughter decided to give
rainbow baby a face makeover using ...... felt tip pens!:eek:
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I was sent a photo of rainbow baby sitting
there chuckling away looking errm beautiful! :rotfl: I
promptly sent photo to my son ...... he's in the art business
and 4yr old had already drawn an adorable 'likeness' last Xmas
 of him with long legs, no body, huge head & extremely
short arms! A weeny kiddies artwork at its best! :grinheart He's had it
framed & proudly displays it at work! :rotfl::rotfl:
Must fly now - got to pop over to the betty thread and then
play catch up with comps.
Have a lovely rest of the day all, take care. It's just
started to rain lightly here thank goodness I mowed
the lawns when I did! :j
