gosh leanfun, thanks for the reminder re yesterday
being decimal day, seems such a long time ago though
still remember with fondness the little shiny sixpence
which we got for polishing my dads army boots & brasses :D
& grandma putting them in the Christmas pudding
when we were young for us to find lol,
wonder if people still do that nowdays ?
awww glad puddy is back to normal now Alfie ilovemycat.gif
& agree all animals should be treated reg for fleas etc
as it's easy for us to bring them in when we've been out!

know what you mean about to much rich food over christmas/new year rose,
we've just having homemade soups/veggie stews (slowcooker)
for the last few weeks much easier on the digestion as well!

well done on weight loss mummy2,

Ho Verksies. Welcome and good luck.

Alfie pleased your posters were up but errr to the bag added to a poster.
Good luck with the hummingbird. I’m about one missing from each. Did win 20p. Pleased your puddy is ok. We had a cat when MIL moved to a flat whenour children were young. All was well until BIL came to stay when he broke his leg and brought cat with him plus fleas. I always new where they were as when I walked into a room they jumped in me.

Mummy2threeboys great to hear from you. Brilliant news that your fog is gone. Know exactly what you mean. Well done too in weight lose. It’s better just not do as you are then strict diet. Keep going with comps.

Firefly you are lucky not to put weight on. I was like that until into my forties and have never stopped putting it on since. Veggie soups sound good.

Sheils hope you are having a good time.

    Take care Rose.

    Have a good evening everyone.

Morning, welcome to the inn Verksies. I went to work yesterday so weather didn't really bother me that much but was showery. They seemed to have gone now and the sun is out here today but it's freezing out. Glad puddy is feeling better Alfie, ref the poo bag sign, at least you know people are reading them but you always get the odd idiot. Well done on the weight loss Mummy2threeboys. I always think it's better to lose weight slowley then you seem to keep it off instead of piling it plus more back on. I had a small FB win yesterday a diary, pleased with that as don't win FB comps much.
Hope you all have a good day.

    :hello: Good afternoon everyone

It's a glorious weather day here at the mo, just a slight
touch of frost first thing, much nicer than yesterday! Went
out walking quite early today, stopped & chatted to some
lovely dog walkers & all is well in my little world. :p

I spent a good few hours yesterday leanfun, trying to
find the dratted elusive hummingbird. After all that
time, only found one panda! :D

Hope your cold's better now ..... have you ever thought
of using a potion of Catnip to relieve symptons? Saw the
following article this morning! :p ......

    6. Catnip and humans

Catnip is claimed to be useful in the treatment of colds and flu
    in humans

I have very fond memories of mum making the Christmas
pud every year fire**fly, complete with a little sixpence hidden
    inside. :grinheart

Just found the following article from 2015 ....

The Royal Mint has announced plans to give away 2,015 sixpences
    to put in Christmas puddings.

And this week, the Royal Mint announced that it was handing out
2,015 lucky sixpences to lucky winners who register online.

Sixpences were traditionally hidden in home-made Christmas
puddings, with the lucky finder keeping the coin - worth 2.5p - but
the tradition, called Stir Up Sunday, is slowly dying out.

In a bid to revitalise the tradition, in which children help their
parents ‘stir up’ the Christmas pudding and put a sixpence into the
mixture, the Royal Mint said it was offering the coins in a bid to
    ‘preserve the tradition’.

The decision came after it was revealed in a poll of 1,000 people
that only 55 per cent planned on serving up Christmas pudding
    this year.

Of that total, just 15 per cent of those - just 82 people out of
1,000 - said they would make the pudding themselves, with the
    remainder buying ‘ready made mixtures’.

Of the 82 people, just 30 said they would put a sixpence or a coin
    into the mixture.

    Such a shame.

Can't believe the price of them now though!

    https://www.royalmint.com/gifts/sixpence/

I still have quite a few old coins, including sixpences, also
got a couple of threepences, half crowns etc.

On her wedding day, my daughter slipped a lucky sixpence
    into her shoe .....

'Something old, something new, something borrowed,
something blue and a silver sixpence in her shoe'

Well done with your weight loss mummy2 & new healthy
lifestyle. So pleased you're feeling so much better too. :T
I've also cut out all chocolate, crisps, biscuits (for now :p)
& eating much more fruit, veggies these days - also upped
my daily walks. Must admit, I'm feeling really healthy at the
mo - long may it last (hopefully)! :D

sounds the same as my youngest granddaughter, (one year
old) much prefers playing to sleeping! :rotfl:

No snow here, (Southern part of the country). It's a beautiful
sunny day soleil07j.gif but I've just seen on the TV that quite a

Last year, over 370,000 #LitterHeroes joined forces - despite the
‘Beast from the East’ - to collect litter at 13,500 events across the
UK, taking a national stand against single-use plastic.

In 2019, we are calling on you to help improve the environment on
our doorstep. We’re aiming to inspire around half a million people
to join forces - in partnership with community organisations,
businesses and the government - to collect and safely dispose of
single-use plastic from our streets, parks and beaches, recycling as
    much as possible.

    springclean_med_port.jpg

So save the date for the Great British Spring Clean 2019, as we
prepare to stand together and declare that single-use plastic litter
    – which degrades the beauty of our environment and threatens to
harm wildlife – is not acceptable.

    Hi everyone,

We are back home from Glasgow now. Had a lovely time and were reasonably lucky with the weather - just a few drizzly showers on first day apart from rain at night. No snow there or at home although some forecast for tomorrow. DS3 not got any at Pitlochry either I don't think.
Did loads of walking while away as we love walking along the River Clyde. We went to see "Bohemian Rhapsody" at the cinema (Meerkat BOGOF deal) and it was great. Any Queen fans must see it!

"War Horse" at the SECC Armadillo was very cleverly done and we enjoyed it although we were a bit far away in the gallery. Finished up moving to the empty back row where we actually got a better view.
Looking forward to Edinburgh next week! Any observent people will notice we visit Scottish cities in the winter as it is the only time they are cheap and as you know I never pay more than I have to.

Must get on. See you all later.

Afternoon everyone. Glad you enjoyed your visit shiels. Still no snow here but the pavements are trecherous today very icy so mini gritter has been out. Shiels you should have a look at Motherwell Civic Theatre for shows they have some brilliant ones and it is not far from Glasgow bit further from Edinburgh and very reasonably priced. Had GK's yesterdar so chicken gougons and potato wedges with mayo were the order of the day. Like to spoil them now and again as fast food is off their parents menu. Although I do make them myself. I taught my son not to go to fast food shops but to make it himself but he does not have that much time himself nowadays. (job) GS friends love my version of fast food takeaways as well. Usually do them for his birthday.

It was sunny here most of the day and definitely no snow. Firefly sounds brrr... your way.

Thanks for the links Alfie. Not sure about the cold and flue remedy but I do know a lot of animal remedies work for humans. Even though sore throat and cold are back today but thankfully no headache just no energy... Pleased you have been out walking.

Shells sounds as though you had a good time in Glasgow pleased weather was reasonable and you were able to enjoy the cinema and War Horse.

Werkseis hope you are surviving today ok. Broken nights are difficult. Let’s hope you have a better night tonight.

Rose your chicken and wedges sound yummy. Sounds as though you had a great time with GKs.

I’ve had a WEM for this Chummi https://chummi.co.uk from one of Laks posts.

Well done Indie on FB diary win Indie.

Hope everyone has a good evening.
