Morning all,
Been fairly cold but no snow . Don't think we have any frost this morning either. DS3 says they have some snow in Pitlochry and it is really cold. He is coming home for a week or so on 31st . DS2, gf, DD and bf and DS3 going to local gig together on 31st which will be nice.
DD's bf starting his Fireman's course a week on Monday. Although he has been a retained fireman for years (even done the fire engine driving course already) he still has to do the whole 14 wk course. He thinks he will be given a job in Edinburgh area after the course so DD will be looking for job there when her mental health uni course ends which will be more difficult as she is known in this area. Will be an exciting year for them both.
So sad you have bad neighbours mummy2. Can't imagine what it must be like to be married to someone nasty , hope the woman gets away to a nice new life.
Hope everyone is keeping warm and the weather isn't too bad for you.

Morning, misty and damp here this morning.I feel for you mummy2 i have had a couple of neighbours like that over the years and it's hard to listen to. I am lucky as live at the end of a terrace so only have neighbours 1 side.
I had a surprise in post this morning a Elf DVD
, no note or email so may be a runner up prize for advent. I won the same one in nov/dec and gave to my nephew so will have to find a good home for this one.
Got no plans as yet for today other than fridge shopping. Hope everyone has a lucky day.0 -
Morning cold but no frost here.
Well done on win Indie. strange how same thing turns up. Hope you have a restful day.
Sheils family all seem very busy. Hope they enjoy their night out when it comes. Well done to DDs BF. I’m sure the course is quite intense. As you say an exciting year for them.
Mummy2threeboys well done for keeping up weight lose. Sorry to hear about your neighbours. Hope the situation changes soon for you.
Like Indie we are end of terrace one advantage only one lot of neighbours. A few years ago we had a couple next door who had major problems. I can remember going to work with their shouting ringing in my ears. Eventually he left and months later she did a moon light flit even look a fireplace. Sadly they lost the house. New neighbour was a builder and gutted the property. He sold for a fortune and we now have a quiet young family next door.
Take care everyone. Have a good weekend and be lucky.
PS Alfie have you won any more on the elusive Hummingbird?0 -

:hello: Good afternoon all
It's a lovely day here - not too chilly & the sun's shining
away.Been out for my usual daily hike through
the forest, it's such a beautiful place to explore.
So sorry to hear about your neighbour mummy2. I hadn't
realised it was known as a gaslighting relationship. Just found
the following link, it sounds horrendous & pure evil, poor
woman. _pale_ It's wonderful that you (& others) are keeping
a close eye on things and trying to help her move on. :A

Today, January 20th is the Eve of St Agnes, traditionally the

Eve of St Agnes
by Ellen Castelow
Girls, if you wish to dream of your future partner, seek out a
recipe for dumb cake and get ready for St Agnes Eve!
January 20th is the Eve of St Agnes, traditionally the night
when girls and unmarried women wishing to dream of their
future husbands would perform certain rituals before going to
bed.
Bizarrely, these rituals included transferring pins one by one
from a pincushion to a sleeve whilst reciting the Lord’s Prayer,
walking backwards upstairs to bed or fasting all day. Another
tradition was to eat a portion of dumb cake (a salty confection
prepared with friends in total silence) before retiring to bed,
hoping to dream of a future love: “St Agnes, that’s to lovers
kind / Come ease the trouble of my mind”
In Scotland, girls would meet in a field of crops at midnight,
throw grain on to the soil and pray ..... [Cont'd] >>>

Been an ok day here. Had a nice walk in the morning when the sun was shining away. It will be colder in Edinburgh tomorrow though I expect. Always think Edinburgh is a cold place but not really a wet one.
Been booking a Highland trip in September, was struggling to get decent prices but arranged Premier Inn hotels in a different way to reduce the prices. Can't believe the prices some hotels want!
Anyway wishing everyone a lucky week. Going to have a pizza now.

:hello: Hiya all
Another lovely weather day here, just a light frost first thing.
Enjoyed a brilliant walk today, started chatting to a lovely lady
(both about the same age), who was out walking her two dogs.
We had so much in common, including our love of gardening!
We ended up walking thru the forest together, chatting away.
Happy days. Both looking forward to meeting up again. :T
Squirrel Appreciation Day
It's Squirrel Appreciation Day! Red squirrels are among our
best loved woodland animals and our only native squirrel
species, but their population has been in decline for
decades.
Why are red squirrels endangered? Where can you spot
them? How can you help?
Find out at http://www.woodlandtru.st/IH3vr
So very sorry to hear of your friends sad news Verksies. I
agree - life can be so incredibly cruel at times. Sending much
love & (((hugs))) to all. xxx :A
Take care all,
