Suns out here this morning but still chilly.
Well done with humming bird Alfie. So far I managed 20p with Queens Guards. Have one or two of everything else. Well done on Lotto wins too.
Well done on the gardening Indie.

:hello: Good afternoon all
It's a dull looking day here too leanfun although still fairly
mild. The weather forecast doesn't make for very good
reading over the next few days - apparently today will be
the last mild day, then we're due to have visits from Jack
Frost up to (& maybe including the wkend?), - makes me
feel cold just thinking about it! Brrrrrr! Also think I'll
be due a bit of rain tomorrow too!
I had to book an appointment at the vets yesterday for
poorly puddy cat. They managed to squeeze her in late
afternoon.
I was so worried about her, scrapped all the plans for the
day, (except for topping up the birdie feeders and replenishing
their water) .... just couldn't focus on anything else. I've always
been a worrier though, all my life - worrying about everyone &
everything, my dad :A was the same.
Anyhow .... she'd started to occasionally scratch around her
neck last Thursday'ish so I was keeping an eye on her. Well,
come Sunday she was still scratching & yesterday morning it
seemed to be so much worse - I found little clumps of fur/
skin  in the hallway/lounge  and she wouldn't let
me touch her neck anymore. She was also going OTT re
cleaning/nibbling every part of her body. She must have been
in quite a bit of discomfort at this point. My first thought
was fleas although I couldn't see any on her! _pale_
Well, lovely vet saved the day!Apparently, from Autumn
2018 onwards the flea population has risen considerably (due
to various reasons) and they've been inundated with cases.
Although there were no actual fleas left on my cat, due to her
manic cleaning sessions, the little blighters had left their
trademark - microscopic droppings - barely visible, even
when using a flea comb.
The vet gave her a steroid injection to relieve the itching,
plus 3 months supply of 'Advantage' (I'd previously been
using another well known make but was told it wasn't
strong enough, even for indoor cats). Also came away with
a large can of 'R.I.P.FleasExtra' to spray indoors & I've had to
wash all cat's bedding etc at 60 degrees just to make sure
there are no traces left.
In the UK, fleas can be a year-round problem for both indoor and
outdoor cats. We as humans can carry fleas (adults, larvae and
eggs) from the outdoor environment and deposit them within the
home environment. Yuk!

Anyway, I'm happy to say that she's back to her normal
'naughty' but lovable self today. :j I've been forgiven for taking
her to the naughty vet yesterday and all is well in her little
world.evening all

Afternoon everyone. Hope you are all well. Bit cold here but no rain. Well done to all winners. No luck here as yet. Trying to do an online shop but just can't get in to it. Do not know what I want to eat. Have had so much rich food etc it is putting me off. Had scrambled egg and bacon with a slice of bread last night for dinner as could not face anything I had in freezer.0
-
Rose hope you have come up with some ideas for online shop. Scrambled egg and bacon sounds good for last night. We had mushroom omelets last night. I don’t think it matters as long as you eat. Know what you mean about rich food.
Have a good evening all.0 -
:hello: Good morning all
It's a bit of a wet, windy & wild day here today.
Still managed my walk in the forest though, wellies & water-
proof coat were the order of the day. Definitely not an
umbrella though ..... didn't fancy doing a Mary Poppins! My only gripe today is a couple of people not clearing up
after their dogs! Must admit, most do but there's always one
or two who seems to think that it'll magically disappear over-
night!
^^^ May print a few of these off & stick them around the
forest (under the cover of darkness though!).
I was fairly worried that my little notices (above) may
have blown away. Well, they're still in place but one cheeky
blighter had hung a full poop bag next to the notice!
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I must see if there's one that actually says
'either bin it or dispose of it at home'. Jeez! :wall:
Puddy's fine again now, :j no more of that dreadful scratching,
thank goodness! The steroid injection plus the first dose of
Advantage worked a treat. :T
I'm going to stay indoors today, catch up with comping then
have a little search for the dratted elusive hummingbird!
Have a lovely & lucky day all and please take care whatever
your plans.

Hi all checking in quickly. No wins to report at all, which is odd I get one a week normally even if it is something small, I enter about 300 a day. 2 small ones in December.
Hope you are all well and had some wins yourselves. Christmas is way done here all food eaten (thankfully we didn't go overboard)
I think I have left the last of my severe depressive state behind, I feel like I have woken up out of a fog, and i am hating how it's ravaged my body , I am so overweight from years of not caring or not being aware enough about what I am eating etc. But thats all changed I feel great (dry january) and I have started eating better foods.
I have lost 2lbs in 2 weeks but it's not really a diet just better habits more fruit and veg, no junk food.
Alfie, one of ours has had the same scabby all over and losing clumps. First vet said he would need tablets and xrays for the rest of his life (feeding a cat tablets twice a day when you have 2 others to try and stop eating that cats food..) second time we went for a check up the second vet said no, just have the steroid injection and flea drops . (his is a food allergy they can't pinpoint). Anyway the jab even with the drops is much more easier and less expensive and he doesn't need x-rays. Phew.
There are loads of fleas this year, I read as cats get older they get more susseptable to them, because like us the skin thins.
Anyway have a great day all, it's gloomy and chilly here, My daffs are almost in bud already!Compers challenge 27/70
