:hello: Good morning everyone
All quiet in the forest this morning, gates secure, ponies
grazing, lots of doggy walkers ..... happy days!3forholidays wrote: »Hi everyone
Hope you are well.
I got the following e-mail yesterday:
Thank you so much for entering the Yours Magazine Advent Calendar competition in December, I am delighted to inform you that you have won a Dairy Diary 2019 Recipe Diary and a Cook It Slowly Cookbook.
:j :j and the prize arrived today.
:j Well done 3for, lovely prizes, brilliant win. :j :T I also
had a look for the poster but as fire**fly previously said, it
looks like it's one that's slipped through somewhere. I've
just googled the Cook it Slowly Cookbook - looks wonderful,
packed full of brilliant recipes. I particularly love the sound
of the PUDDINGS, BAKES & CAKES section!

Puddy's such a great companion & character fire**fly. :grinheart
Each time I leave the house I tell her to behave herself and that
I won't be long.Would be a shock if she actually replied!

Have a lovely & lucky day all and please take care whatever
your plans.

Morning all,
Friday again. Quite a nice looking day. Been busy here with DS3 but he has to go back today so we are running him up to Lockerbie to catch his train later. Then will have 2 days to relax before we head to Glasgow for 3 nights.
Your forest walks sound nice Alfie.
Glad you have the tablets sorted out FF. My parents get them sorted out too but sis picks them up for them.
Hope they get your son's gf sorted out quickly indie.
Well done on the win 3forholidays.
Must get on. Good luck all.

Morning,
well done on the win 3forholidays. Not so cold here today,no frost around.
Just dropped DS off to work and going to get some housework done now. Hope you all have a lucky day.0 -
Morning everyone. We had no WiFi yesterday until evening well 6pm. Recorded message no TV or WiFi in our area but TV was ok. It was a bit frustrating as evening before we had sorted flights for GKs coming from Glasgow for Feb half term and needed to book return flights. Ex Dill only asked DS this week for them to come as she has to work some of the week. When WiFi came on prices were sky high.
3forhols well done on win. I’ve just had a look through the click to wins winners not there.
Indie sorry to hear your DSs GF has a hiatus hernia. I think she is very young to have one normally over 50. When I was investigated for gall stones they found out I too had a hiatus hernia. I’m wondering if she is bending over in the mornings after breakfast. Bending over can cause quite a bit of discomfort. I put my feet up on a step or chair to put socks on or do shoes up.
Thanks everyone re cold. On Tuesday I came across something on internet saying eating garlic stopped a cold. We had a garlic clove so I ate a bit with lots of cold water. In fifteen minutes nose stopped running. Like turning a tap off and I had no stomach problems. Nose is now dry. Throat still sore but very lucky never had headache.
Sorry to hear your DH had one too FireFly. Pleased to hear you have prescriptions delivered and sorted.
Sheils have a good day going to Lockerbie.
Alfie great you can walk in the forest. We too enjoyed the Forest programme.
Good luck everyone.0 -
Thanks, for the info leanfun. Her problem was she couldn't eat breakfast as felt sick when she got up and none of the meds the Dr tried worked. I have passed on the tip about putting her shoes and socks on. Glad the garlic worked for you, always good to try something new.0

evening all
been another cold one here I thought but neighbour was
saying to me she thought it was not to bad lol,
must be me being nesh as usual!
thanks for the reminder about the garlic leanfun :A
was remembering years ago when we were youngsters
my grandma always gave us garlic when we had colds
& coughs, iirc she used to crush the garlic &
add a bit of honey then we would spoon it up to swallow,
lol, I do use garlic in cooking in some dishes
but think the raw/crushed version is best for colds etc,
glad yours is feeling better x
lol Alfie, I've always talked to my animals like they were another person
even chuntered away telling them all my
woes, moans & highlights of the day like they understand lol,
jeez, if they answered back i'd get the fright of my life :rotfl::rotfl:
loved the pics thanks sheils/Alfie :A
hope alls well rose x
& hoping everyone is all keeping well & warm x
lol love this new emoticon & had to show you allplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -
Morning. Cold here too Firefly. I might venture out today and think it will be brrr...
Great to hear of your grandma’s remedy. I find honey too sweet. I too a little in some cooking hence having a clove at home to try. Something else learnt. Ho Firefly I did laugh about you talking to cat, yes what if it did reply. Love the elephant.
Indie when you said about Hiatus Hernia I looked it up again. I read somewhere about raising top the bed and have just found a link saying this
https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses-and-conditions/stomach-liver-and-gastrointestinal-tract/hiatus-hernia#treating-hiatus-hernia. The other thing is not to eat or drink two or three hours before going to bed. Really feel for your DSs GF.
WiFi kept going down yesterday and something is wrong with phone again. The one’s you can walk about with don’t seem to last.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.0 -
:hello: Hiya all
It's fairly mild here at the mo, not long back from my daily
forest walk - quite a few Shetland ponies grazing today in
their little groups.
My only gripe today is a couple of people not clearing up
after their dogs! Must admit, most do but there's always one
or two who seems to think that it'll magically disappear over-
night!
^^^ May print a few of these off & stick them around the
forest (under the cover of darkness though!).

I have an admission fire**fly, you're not the only one, I do
the same!Always nattering away to puddy about this n'
that and every inbetween, always bending her ear! :rotfl: :rotfl:
I find it very therapeutic, not so sure she does though!
Love the new elephant emoticon, brilliant! :T
Hope everything's ok rose. xx
Well done on finding out about the garlic tip leanfun! :T It
certainly did the trick! The link below makes for interesting
reading! :rotfl:

Treating tooth-ache in the 19th century could be a gruesome
business. Pain would be relieved, it was said, by driving a nail into
the tooth until it bled, and then hammering the nail into a tree.
The pain was then transferred to the tree. To prevent tooth-ache,
a well tried method was to tie a dead mole around the neck!

Have a lovely & lucky Saturday all and please take care
whatever your plans.
