DPD are one of the best couriers out there. And 16.30-17.30 is hardly a late slot - I've had slots past 8pm in just the last week - probably the Christmas effect.

I give dpd full credit, they managed to get my parcel to the wrong address about a mile away. I reckon in with a bunch of other parcels, when I noticed someone I never heard of had signed for it, I let dpd know. They returned to wrong address, retrieved my parcel and brought it to me.
Granted this took time and should never have happened, however mistakes will be made and it's how it's dealt with that matters

    Zero wins 2016 😥

    DPD are brilliant.

Ordered a gift on Ebay yesterday. Delivery was anytime up to 27th December, although the seller sent me a message saying they were hopeful it might be delivered by the middle of next week.

DPD delivered today, within their one hour slot as promised. Took me totally by surprise, wasn’t expecting a delivery so quickly, within 24 hours of ordering.

So 10/10 to DPD from me and a great feedback to the EBay seller too !

I agree the time slot would be useful if they actually turned up.

I waited in yesterday checked on the tracking and it said the driver could not find my address my parcel went back to the depot.

They have my tel no so why not ring?

I emailed the sender and lo and behold the driver found my address today.

Firstly time slots are only ever a guide. All manner of things can cause that to go out the window (late processing, traffic, weather conditions, collections taking too long, other issues that managers may get the driver to go and sort out)

Do DPD give their drivers work mobiles?

If not why on earth should he ring you on his own personal phone?

Do you know how many deliveries couriers make a day during peak season? (ie. now because it is Christmas)

Delays happen, it is Peak and they are probably over forecast for parcels and doing their best to get it all delivered in time

PS. I work for a very well known Courier and if you consider the above I think your anger will look as ridiculous to you as it does to the rest of us

I think DPD are very good too - I do not work for them.

As far as I am concerned they are the best delivery company, they give you a date with an hour time slot so you don't have to wait all day in case you miss them and you can track the delivery of your package, plus the option to change the delivery day if it is inconvenient.

You also the option to have them drop it off at a local parcel shop, so you can pick up at your conivenence if you are not going to be home.

Not the worst courier, maybe Hermes gets that award.

Not had an issue with DPD, can choose to click and collect from halfords and other local stores if more convenient than waiting in.

Like most others in this thread nothing but praise for DPD. Particularly like the delivery 11.36-12.36. Sneered the first time but they have always met the target and you can see how many deliveries are in front of you.
  • Is DPD the worst courier company?

That is absolutely impossible while Yodel and UK Mail are in business.
  • DPD are excellent. Even the dog thinks Colin, the driver, is the nuts......

Remember when delivery was between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. The one-hour slot is brilliant.
