Is DPD UK the worst company in the world?

Ordered two items from Apple in the same order. Both shipped at the same time from the same place. The first arrived yesterday, on time, with an 11.30-12.30 delivery slot from DPD.

The second was inexplicably delayed by 24 hours. Despite being late — and there was no warning or apology for this — the delivery slot is 16.30-17.30, literally the latest slot I’ve ever had from DPD.

I was planning to ship this item to a friend in the Netherlands for Christmas. Now it’s too late to use Royal Mail. An earlier slot today — which would have been a courtesy given the delay — means I won’t get to the Post Office in time.

I could use another carrier, but that will cost three times as much.

DPD UK is the worst company in the world. Furious.

I have always had good service from DPD.
Perhaps you ought to have ordered earlier.

On a scale of 1 to massive overreaction, I'm going to score you a 16.

Few other companies give you an hour timeslot, so thats a massive plus for DPD. Just because that timeslot doesn't suit you doesn't make them a terrible company.

You left your turnaround time pretty short to send to your friend. That is your fault, not DPD.

you also do not know who caused the delay in what I assume was next day post. You need to complain to Apple about that, not DPD. You are not entitled to an earlier slot because of a delay.

Have to say DPD are one of the best couriers, yes they can make mistakes like all companies do but personnel I have yet to find they have with me. There are far worse couriers around like Yodel although I have found them okay with me too. But I often make sure I am around when a parcel comes or make provision and I do get quite a lkot of parcels come to my house foten taken them for neighbours or never make provision to be in even with DPD

Perhaps they are a tinsy winsy bit busy this time of year.......just a hunch.were you promised a set delivery day...if not tough luck order earlier next year
  • I've found DPD to be good as well. I can understand that it must be a bit annoying, but no company is perfect. They handle 2 million parcels a day through their network, so are sure to have some failures.

    Exactly my thinking.
a time slot the delivery slot is 16.30-17.30. So a slot in DPDs delivery planning.
No doubt the OP is cool with the muggles getting such an inhuman slot, just not themselves.
  • I am always very pleased when I order on line if the courier is DPD.

Keeps you updated well and the timed delivery slot is a bonus.

Hussein is my DPD hero, within the slot 99% of the time and regular uodates if he's running late. I wish all couriers were as good as DPD, they are excellent.
