  • The 6 month one is interesting in that it covers you for the dearest 6 months of the year - so an interesting concept.
From a numbers standpoint, for my own usage, there is hardly any difference in the 6 month, 9 month, or Fixed 20 16.0 rates.

No exit fees on any of the fixed tariffs "there is hardly any difference in the 6 month, 9 month, or Fixed 20 16.0 rates"  no apparent advantage of a shorter fix.
  • I normally receive an email from OTM on the 6th asking for a reading on the 8th, I didn’t receive one this month, however I did receive one today asking for a reading on the 2nd December. Has anybody received similar?
  • Outfox on the FB discussion group: "had an error over the weekend where emails were not sending. This error was fixed yesterday but because the emails were sent out later than usual it generated the wrong date."
  • Interesting - I normally submit on 8th of each month as well. It happens this month I submitted on 7th, figuring they would then estimate 1 day more. I then get email yesterday asking me for a reading today, on the 10th. When I logged in to give that reading, an invoice dated 8 Nov had already been produced, using the readings I gave on the 7th - with no estimate for one more day.
So far 7 months with 7 accurate invoices - quite a difference from the Symbio guessing game.
  • How is OTM refunding credit at the end of contract? My switch was on the same date as end of billing period and currently I'm in credit of £60. Today, I got email that my DD was cancelled. So how to they intend to refund me credit when final bill arrives?

Even Outfox the Market should be capable of popping a cheque in the post.
  • DD is more convenient than cheque. You don't have to go to branch to cash it. And no, not every bank has such option in the app.
  • My current fix with peoples energy is up in january and currently they are not offering any good deals to stay with them. Outfox the market is again very high up the list for my cheapest provider.
know they had bad press in passed a few years ago with hicking DD but not seen many bad reviews from them for a while so has all the payment issues gone now and what do people currently make of them now.
know the cheap energy club star review lags behind (tonik springs to mind)
just wondered what people make of the service now. Not expecting 5 star treatment for a cheap tariff but would just like to know things seem to be ok and no frills but no issue

I have been with them since last April and think they are great. I give them readings once a month and the invoice, which is always right, arrives within a couple of days. My tariff is still the cheapest and is fixed until April.
I am surprised OTM is still cheap for you....the furore over the 28% increase in October must have been overblown!
  • I joined in August and the switch couldn't have gone more smoothly.  I love their Facebook customer discussion group which allows you to chat to other customers as well as having involvement from a responsive member of the company involved.  I could switch again and save myself around £2 a month but I'm happy to stay with them as it strikes me that they have a genuine need to offer the best prices to their customers.
