Jem, your a bit late again because you should have switched to Utilita temporarily for zero usage, as they're the only provider with no standing charges!

Jem, a "deemed contact" should always be challenged, but you've already agreed to accept the worst and most expensive provider contract!

@Clif By definition, you can't 'challenge' a deemed contract.
If you don't like it, your only options are to switch to another provider (paying for your usage and number of days on supply) or not using any energy and having the supply disconnected.

I know from personal experience that a claim for standing charges only would not suffice to create a deemed contract!

I honestly thought I would be in my home within a week, so I thought I was ok going on a standard tarrif, learn by your mistakes. I also had problems with BG saying I had two electric meters which obviously I don't.

I only joined OTM 2 days ago. Today I get an email advising me they are putting up my variable unit price. Is that permitted?

I got price increase email and I wasn't happy about it, since I only switched in June. Did some quick research on Energy Club comparison website and nothing is cheaper, even after the price hike. I compare actual prices per unit and standing charge, I don't believe in usual: "you will save xxx per month".

Standing charge increase from 7p to 20p is quite high.

You should always compare the total annual cost based on your annual usage in kWh derived from actual meter readings.
