Well, their sister company Fischer certainly know all about tricks !  There have been so many upheld complaints about their magic dust heaters that the ASA have had to issue a warning alert to publishers.

@Gerry 1 The ASA rulings are nithing unusual for a number of companies. I run a business & as an FYI, doing business is always fraught with all kinds of risks. If doing business was not risky, every man his dog would be involved in a startup. Well the point i am trying to make is that ASA rulings of all sorts are made against all sorts of companies on a daily/weekly basis. All you require to do is lookup  a number of reputable companies & they too have rulings made against them. And thats perfectly normal. The PPI scandal that broke out years ago had all the high street banks with strong business risk & compliance functions fall foul of  mis-selling & they had to put aside millions for compensation. These high street banks are household names & remain flourishing in the UK. The point I am trying to make is that doing business is always about pushing the boundaries (not ethical & integrity boundaries I hasten to add) & carries inevitable risks. I don't have Fischer heaters as my home has central heating & do not know much about the company. They wont be the first ones falling foul of the ASA, and wont be the last either. Sticking to energy, most recently Bulb, SSE/Ovo were fined millions by ofgem. Again i do not believe these are bad companies but doing business is not about sitting in an armchair & pontificating. All companies push boundaries in marketing, advertising an instance with the ASA ruling against Deliveroo to get their TV ad removed. I admire everyone who starts businesses & offers jobs to people providing its legal, ethical & sustainable.

Please tell me the name of your business (magic dust radiators that cost just a few pennies per year to run, perhaps?) so that I may take my custom elsewhere !

@Gerry1 My comments are clearly too difficult for you to respond to, that you have to resort to insults! Why am i not surprised? Come on you must try harder! Go on make an effort rather than cheap jibes. As an FYI, BTW i run an IT consultancy. If you have any work to throw my way please let me know. :D

Gerry1, that's unfair because I agree with loyal, except that PPI didn't cost the high street banks millions, it cost them billions and the compensation bill is still rising!

@loyal @Clif We'll have to agree to disagree, but I wouldn't want to deal with a company that has umpteen upheld complaints against it, refuses to abide by the ASA verdicts and is so dodgy that its advertising copy has to be pre-vetted. Ditto for anyone who thinks that such poor conduct is fair trading: it's nor fair on the ripped off customers, nor is it fair on their honest competitors who are placed at a commercial disadvantage.

Suggest you read the Fischer thread.  You might then not be quite so keen to align your business with some of their practices.

@Gerry1 Following on from your last comment, I really don't care about fischer or for that matter any other company other than waitrose & JL. Picking up on some of your points again, which failed to answer my previous comments is....pre-vetting or review cycles should be done by all companies as a matter of good practice. So nothing unusual in what Fischer do or succumb too when compared to other companies. I explained mis-selling earlier & both FCA & Ofgem fining companies for misdemeanours although it was on huge scale, Yet I think when these companies came out with products, tariffs etc., they did not actively set out to mislead people. I am unsure if Fischer actively acted unfairly, however if they did then they should bear the brunt. As to poor conduct is not fair trading comment of yours, well you may be aware that the UK online retailers have accused Amazon of poor conduct over the last 8 years of not paying fair taxes. So there you go. Chew on that for a while for unfairness or poor conduct etc. Anyway why do you have this particular vendetta against that company? Personally if i don't like a particular company or a service i don't give them my custom & move on. What better way than vote with your feet & in a free market customers spurn poor products/services for a better one.

@loyal The Fischer thread speaks for itself.  If you are happy with a company with that record and number of ASA rulings against it, then nothing I point out will ever change your mind.  We'll just have to agree to disagree and leave it at that.
