Most wealthy people become wealthy through inheritance, privilege, exploitation and/or luck rather than having any particular financial acumen. Scrabbling around for a few pennies is highly inefficient use of time if you're attempting to get rich.

With Outfox the Market, I'm saving over £1 a day, which is over £365 a year or over £3,650 a decade, wealthy people do become wealthy by doing this with all of their goods and services!

On that basis why are you wasting your time here instead of spending your time penny-pinching elsewhere ? Of course you could save yourself even more money by totally turning off your energy. A truely wealthy person wouldn't bother with a forum like this, so why do you ? My guess is you're not being transparent therefore what you're stating can be discounted. As already mentioned by other people, your knowledge of Outfox The Market is very comprehensive and points to you be involved with them either directly or indirectly.
  • When I moved to OFTM in December 2019, I did this with some trepidation, I have phoned them a few times to change my tariff to a cheaper rate, the phone is answered quickly and they have did this with no problems at all. I have been with many other providers and most have been okay. However, some were awful like N Power, In my opinion OFTM, like Zog, one of the best. I will stay with OFTM whilst they stay one of the cheapest and their customer service stays good.

As a retired stockbroker, my knowledge of most companies is very comprehensive, without me being involved with them either directly or indirectly!

In reading the above posts, apparently those of us with OFTM should be prepared for a 70/30 alteration to our direct debits, starting October. So say you use £1200 per year, which on an even payment scheme is £100 a month. Let's say for 6 months Oct - Mar) they want 70% (£840) over 6 months, or £140 a month. Unless there are other reasons any one would care to point out, then current customers of OFTM who have had no reason to complain up to now (myself included) should simply prepare themselves financially for an increase to their DD during the heavier usage period of the year. If they keep the payments (in the example above) at £100 per month, all is fine. If they do increase the payments to £140 per month - you are prepared.

I have been with them for 5 months, and have built up a slight credit during that time - nothing major  - so I am not too bothered if I do have to pay more during the colder months.

I do understand the bitterness of what happened in December 2018 at Christmas time - that is awful to think that some had to make decisions to pay outrageous DD and had to forgo giving presents to their family - beyond horrible !!

But those of you who seem to know so so much about OFTM - how about giving us some much more recent examples - that would be FAR MORE USEFUL. All companies get complaints - no company is perfect - NONE ! So please educate us forum members with far more recent examples. I for one would find this very helpful in deciding whether I should stay with OFTM, at a very very cheap rate - particularly for my gas where I am a high user - or look for "safer pastures" at a higher price. Thanks for your help.

70/30 may or may not apply to new customers, but I'm certain it won't apply to existing customers again because since December 2018, I've witnessed Outfox the Market improve from poor to excellent!

Unfortunately there will be a lot of people who are simply unable to financially prepare themselves for a change like that.

Unfortunately there are/will be a lot of customers of all energy companies who end up in debt following winter months many of whom not able to repay what they have used, some blame the energy companies for not increasing direct debits. :/
