Hi all, been AWOL for a few months! Summer holidays just knocked me flying with kids round 24/7 so I couldn't get any of my usual things done so some things like keeping on top of my numbers had to go on the back burner! It has been bugging me for a month to get up to date so I set myself a target of getting it sorted today!
Well it is now nearly 1am but I am determined to get it finished before I head to bed!! I will sleep better knowing it is all up to date anyhow!
Turns out due to cashing in some shares in September we have hit our target early! We need to spend some on a new boiler but I don't count the expenditure, just the effort of saving it! Since we have stopped our monthly saving at the moment (all our 1 year fixed saving accounts have now expired) and my partner has just changed job I am keeping money available until after Christmas when everything should have settled down and we will be more ready to sort out where best to invest it!

End of the week update to keep myself motivated - I'm really determined to push myself this month and see how much I can save if I put my mind to it. It's impossible to keep it up all year round however it keep things interesting to test yourself every once in a while. Who knows...the super-frugal habits might stick?
The goal is to save £600 this month - for reference that's about 44% of my take home pay. I'm also dealing with the possibility that I may need to loan my sister up to 5K next year due to her personal circumstance. I will get the money back at some point (either relatively soon afterwards if she chooses to sell her house or within a year if not) and what is money for if you can't help your closest family members out in times of need? Whilst the thought of 5K 'disappearing' from my bank account makes me sweat I have no direct plans for my money for at least a few years. And it's not a certainty yet so I'm trying not to worry about something that may never happenSave 12K 2019 #37 - £3,512.97 / £6,000 (July)
