I'm not getting into the drugs are fine/bad discussion. It's already going on perfectly well without my input.
However.
When Offspring #2 was in Nursery, parents took turns in coming in for a morning to help out and my turn coincided with some baking of fairy cakes. The little girl that was adding the sugar to the mixing bowl spilled some on the table.
A little boy, not even 4 years old, mimicked snorting it, saying with a big smile 'I'm Daddy'. After I picked my jaw off the floor, I had to report it to the Nursery Manager under Safeguarding rules.
Anybody who has undergone Safeguarding Training - a teacher, TA, dinner lady, school receptionist - anybody - who sees something like that has no choice but to report it and a Safeguarding Investigation is started.
From outward appearances, I wouldn't have imagined that either parent used any substances. They just looked like any other professional couple. I wouldn't have imagined that, if they did, they'd be so careless as to do it in front of a small child. But being a subject of a Safeguarding Investigation (whether at fault or completely innocent) has to be disclosed for a large number of jobs - education, the NHS, the local council, social care.
I would not feel pleased if I had to tell prospective employers about that every time I applied for a position - and I'm not convinced that all of them would be happy about employing somebody who had when they could have any number of equally well qualified and experienced candidates who hadn't.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

How did the weekend go? xx
Was ok thank you, Friday night we were out at a family meal and Saturday night no drugs were taken (I know when he does)
I think this weekend will be the test. If he does I'll be telling him: "Two choices I either call the police or I call your Mum and she can come and pick you up"
Time to get tough, cant be having this every weekend for the rest of my life!0
